Singh, 15 Mar 2017worst update 1, Battery drains 2, Mobile lags 3, USING VR HEADSET FOR 15 MIN ITSELF- MAKES... moreI'm having sporadic missed texts, too. Some of my calls are silent, it's un-user friendly, total different phone--- from 5 Stars to 0 Stars. Piece of crap now. Someone flew over the cuckoos nest with this update.
HORRIBLE, everything about it! Best feature that i used was the block text/block calls, worked great for certain business purposes, just don't get it!!!! I'm sure it's been asked, is there no restore feature like on your computer?
Can"t believe you guys actually pay someone to deliver such a useless update. I dont even enjoy using my phone now
I agree this is the worst can't stand it ready to go trade my phone in on a S6 or a S4 this absolutely stinks
I hate this I wish to God you guys that never changed it whoever did it was stupid the most worst update you guys have ever done in your history. Please tell me how I can go back to where I used to be before this update I am sick of this s***
Since the update I now can't make calls, always refers to 'emergency calls only'
Totally useless. Phone now states I have to register with Vodafone, although they have confirmed I am registered!
I absolutely HATE the newest update they have done on the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. Why change something that's not broken !!! ?????
I'm so annoyed with this new update. I could work with most of it but WHYYYYYYY would you change the block feature??? I loved having the option to turn on/off the notification for a number. And the option to choose whether I wanted to block the call or the text message. I may not want them to call me but I still want to text. Now, when you put someone on block it deletes all messages and this person cannot call or text period. Somebody please pinch the person who decided to change that feature and add a whole of bunch of confusing, useless, unnecessary bull crap! Mad about that ish...
I really dislike this latest update. The most annoying change relates to Favourites for those you regularly call. Up until this update it was really useful to just tap the favourite number and the phone would just dial the number straight away. The grid layout was also ideal for easy navigation. Now - you have to scroll through the list and then select the action to take.
The overall feel of the display of the phone is cold and definately not user friendly.
Come on Samsung - stop messing about and roll back these useless changes.
Stupid update... So far no benifit!!!! Keeps disconnecting to internet!!!! Also i hate the new texting feature!!! When i get a text i have to scroll down to find out who texted me instead of it being right on top plus whoever i text i have to find them and then after i text them it doesn't go to the top then i keep accidentally texting the wrong person!!!!
Anonymous, 16 Mar 2017Just ran the new update and my notifications are tiny! Is there any way to change this as the ... morescreen brightness slider can be added to the main slide bar through the little arrow on the RIGHT side and turn on to appear on main slide bar
So far I do not like the update. I can't change my font or my background to my messages and when someone sends a long text, I have to hit "view all" and it takes me to a different screen to be able to view the whole message when I was already looking at the text through the message app, then I couldn't reply to it from there, I had to go back to be able to reply to the message. I don't mind the way the icons look, but texting functionality and the option to personalize needs to go back for sure! If in had to rate this update, it would be 1.5-2 starts, not impressed at all.
Just come off phone to Samsung who are obviously taking a lot of flack over latest update since almost immediately I was told there was nothing to be done it is what it is!
The phone was fantastic now, since latest update, I really dislike it. Updates are supposed to patch security issues and improve the phone. This latest update has changed the looks (fruit salad), the way you access things (you have to relearn how to use the phone), and has actually removed or turned off functions that for me were useful. I use a voice recorder so I can playback conversations and make notes. The app came from Samsung Apps, it cost money but worked well. Now it doesn't work because someone turned off voice record so now I only hear me but not the other party - useless!
I was told that I had agreed a disclaimer be download of update. Of course or else the phone would have gone mental telling me there was a new update until I did but more importantly I wanted to keep the phone secure. I never expected everything be changed as well and never knowingly consented to those changes. How dare Samsung do this, whoever signed off thinking they have improved the customer experience is an idiot. By all means keep product secure and improve operating efficiencies but don't mess with setup without option to keep previous look. Final outcome from customer service call is that Samsung don't care. Such poor service and apathy along with great phone now ruined means I won't risk Samsung phone again. Shame.
Not having any serious issues with the new update so far but my phone is more laggy and when I change my theme it stays for maybe a few minutes then goes back to the same boring blue theme that came with it! I've tried using different themes and apps nothing works! I am pretty partial to the galaxy note myself but due to the recalls for exploding phones I settled with the edge because I like Samsung products not so happy with the edge and I miss the note please get your crap together Samsung and fix the issues
screen brightness slider can be added to the main slide bar through the little arrow on the RIGHT side and turn on to appear on main slide bar
Who on earth does Samsung consult on updates. Useful functionality lost lost easy access to favourite contacts and screen brightness. Technically a better interface with fewer conflicts but they've forgotten about the user...
i recently tested an s7 with android 7 installed on it from the factory. it is working fine, no battery problems no lag... android 7 looks different but it is all about ones taste. i m fine with it. looks clean. icons in the slide bar are a little small but manageable. with a black theme it looks really nice and saves battery. screen brightness can be added to the main slide bar through the little arrow on the left side. great idea. blue filter, a very good idea. maybe you have to do a factory reset before or/and after an major update... if anything bad comes i will let you know
