After new update battery is halved, Samsung needs to fix this ASAP
Same. UPDATED now I'm charging 2 or 3 times a day and phone red hot
Who/why should anyone with an S7 (like me!) bother with this update/upgrade? What improves? And - my chief concern - does it use up more or less battery post- upgrade?

Have the same issue. Updated the phone's software and now my battery lasts less than an hour. I did a factory reset and it's not helping. Anyone knows how can I downgrade?
I also installed the latest update on my Galaxy S7 (Vodafone Hungary) and since that time my original Samsung LED view cover is not working. It is functioning as a very cheap cover.
Wireless charging also not working.
Anyone else with the same problems?

I contacted Samsung Customer Care and explained in detail the issues I am having with my S7 Edge singe their update of 01/January/2017.
They sent back to me a useless reply.

I recently got a Samsung s7 and I did the update on January 5th but my problem isn't to do with charging???? My phone is either freezing or restarting itself, it could be due to the update or that my phone is faulty as I'd bought it the same day

All carriers including Verizon, Att, Tmobile, and Sprint have already released the update. I suggest you go to the closest carrier store and trade in your device... I have the LG G Vista and I am fine with the Verizon network

Ask your friends if they intalled and update. I am in the Verizon network and Im fine... Samsung does now have recalls on the S7 do to exploding of the phone... I suggest you return it to the closest Verizon TTL store and trade it in... I have a LG G Vista and it's great I have received the Jan update it was within 3 months last update before Jan update was Nov... All carriers may be planning to shut ALL phones in U.S down.

Jaffabat, 06 Jan 2017My Samsung Galaxy S7 also is overheating & the battery is draining really fast since I ins... moreMy S7 and 3 of my friends are experiencing a horrible problem with our S7s that started around 4pm on Jan 4th (exactly Midnight Jan 5th UTC). The phone heats up (spins the CPU) every 5 to 30 minutes (usually around 10 min) and then re-boots. I have traced the problem to the 4G network - if we turn off 4G, the phone is fine, and we can use it normally on WiFi. We are all Verizon customers, and I suspect this is something that changed on the Verizon network. NO, we have not had any recent update to our phones!! No update since November - this bug was triggered by the DATE of Jan 5th 2017.
Well I have updated the device on the 4th of Jan 2017. All he'll broke loose! Twitter crashes when you click on a link anywhere in the App. I thought it's a problem with Twitter but I was wrong. Google play, Wikipedia, Flip board, pretty much any app will crash if you open a link. I bought my first Samsung in 2011, never bought another brand but Samsung. My last experiences with Samsung are not pleasant. Note 7 recalled twice, software update issues, lack of accessories. It's like Samsung is forcing its customers to go away, the same way Nokia shot itself in the foot by 2009!!
