Well forget the forced stop on Gear VR and Device Maintenance, updating all external apps and restarting the phone (all recommended in other forums....) NOT FIXING THE PROBLEM. These apps are not uninstallable and turn themselves back on at will it seems.
Samsung, you gotta do better than this....
Well I wish I had read this forum before I accepted this update just yesterday on my S7 Edge. Experiencing ALL the same problems with massive battery drain. Seems that Beaming Service and Gear VR Service apps are the culprits. Forcing them to stop and will see what ensues...
Well at least it's not only just me, but the update constantly is make me close any app I try to use because it crashes. I feel like we should all report the apps before closing them, as many times as you can. Eventually Samsung will hear us out.
My battery was completely draining within an hour and would only charge if powered off. I installed Battery Guru by AsanteMobile and within a couple days it cooled down and started working normally. Either this app fixed it or they pushed and update without telling me.
The Samsung update is horrible! At first I thought it was just my phone having the issues with the battery life, but now I understand that it's the update. I'm becoming so frustrated! I was a die-hard Samsung fan, but this update is making me contemplate on switching to something else. Bye-bye Samsung!
So annoyed by this update. My phone was working perfectly and now it is a nightmare. So many little annoying things now don't work. Ahhh!!!!!!!! PLEASE FIX IT!!!!!!!!
I am horrified that Samsung have broken what was a perfectly good Galaxy S7, just as my contract is due for upgrade. My phone was perfect before and now the battery doesn't last even half a day and everything has changed for the worse. It's clearly a tool to try and get you to upgrade your phone but it's making me think twice about wanting another Samsung.
James, 14 Jul 2018any body is having issues with calendar after the latest updates. it duplicates events 400 times!!My calendar has lost a lot of options. It's horrible now.

I spent a shit load of money to surprise my 30 year old daughter with a new phone, she has had it 2 damn days, and today that stupid update caused her to get the "emergency calls only", even factory reset didn't fix anything but the Wi-Fi and internet. She can't use the damn thing for anything more than a fucking paperweight
Horrible update. Pics sent in texting are showing as "sent" but are never recieved by the people I sent them to, in addition to other noted issues.
Since the update my S7 is overheating and getting really really hot, I can't listen to music in the background and do anything else without the phone getting too hot to hold. The battery is dying so fast and the UI is constantly lagging. This wasn't a problem before, had this phone over a year now! This is why I am always ignoring the update notifications!

The latest S7 update has done the following:
1) Can't send videos via text
2) Can't access my micro SD cards via computer connection
3) I get "close app" messages constantly telling me to close the app because it stopped working
4) Drilling down two levels to get texting emoticons is STUPID - also they wiped my favorite ones
5) The storage and battery maintenance "fixes" are AWFUL
6) It auto opens numerous apps when I don't want them open
...and the list goes on.
WHEN ARE THEY FIXING THIS
The latest software update is HORRIBLE!! Not only is my battery draining within a couple hours, ringtones being lost, camera pics being shuffled, but I now have ads unexpectedly popping up even if no apps are open!
Samsung has obviously forgotten that customers have choices. If the problems introduced are not fixed soon, I'm jumping ship.

I hate the new do splay..but figured I was just being picky and that IÂ’d just have to learn to live with it. But now IÂ’m not getting notifications for texts coming in, the light that used to let me know about activity is gone (the purple flashing light in the corner) and itÂ’s not even showing on the icon that there is a text, though if I click on it, I seee that there are.
This is my first Â“smartphoneÂ” (which is paid off this month) and my husband has been pushing me to get a new phone-but I always liked this S7..now IÂ’m not even sure I want to stick with a Samsung!
Will these issues likely be fixed at all, or am I just not understanding how to fix it myself? 🤔

This update confirmed that i wasted all my money kn this crap! Samsung is arguably the worst smartphone maker and its engineers are either monkeys or are trump university graduates if they dont know how to test their updates before rolling them out. My phone was already bad and this update just fucked it over completely.
