Took it to the Samsung store, warned me of the possible 2 to 3 week delay and there is a parts shortage worldwide. Also was told there is a chance that it would be replaced not repaired. It took 2 months and over 10 phone calls to get an answer from them(mind you in less than one week I was told I was getting a replacement S7 Edge for my s6, but 2 months for someone to tell me exactly when I was getting it). Now I can't even update the thing in fear the software will be corrupted. Smart switch failed last time, lost all text messages, so I refuse to update the new one in fear I will lose something again or worse still,kill the whole phone!
After the recent updates my mobile s7 edge start freezing and sometimes start by itself.
can anyone help me is it software issue or hardware issue ??
nothing wrong with android os its shitty samsung with there awfull updates that fuck peoples phones up they should invest in android dedicated developers to do there updates not some some kinda wierd china collage dude fucking assholes samsung are

My phone overheats and even when I'm plugged in using my phone it drains faster than it charges. It also restarts frequently since the update.

Almost not exaggerating!! Super duper annoyed. I checked all my app settings...I'm quite certain it's the update especially if I'm not the only one Complaining about these issues. Also my phone is freezing mid app or between app changes. This update needs improvement 😠

I got 170mbisb update. Until this update I had many updates but all were like same. But after 170mb November update, phone overheats, battery drains. Remebers me Xperia Z mobile data active bug. If this or similar bug is still causing troubles after 2 years in this high end top device, I'm done with android forever man enough. I'm tired of incostency and lags and heat. Waiting for December update to fix this mess. Otherwise no more android adventures anymore.
My s7 edge is G935F version and update was 168.93mb. I was not gonna update it with all those comments but I had my doubts because all those comments had different problem and no similarities. So I decided to update my s7 edge. The updated version was "G935FXXUIBPJG" and have ZERO problem with it. I can't believe I was looking at the software update screen for about a month thinking that it might actually break my phone. If you have same model as me and same update file with 168.93mb update, just do it. Don't listen to those comments. It's FINE.
I bought my phone today. And my software is automatically updating but it was unfinished because i had a terrible internet connection.

I updated my samsung s7 edge 2 days ago. The phone became very slow, goes frequently hanging . Charging battery very slow. Takes half an hour to get 15% from 5 %.
Pl do not update the latest update from samsung.
Update was smooth and no issues.

Done reacent update on my s7 phone ended up crashing got stuck in loading loop tried soft restart didn't work ended up having to go in to safe mode and do a factory reset wich resulted in loseing all my photos and videos from myou phone now battery life is compleate garbage I mean was at 100% at 8 this morning now 12.36 and it's at 19% like wtf Samsung and if all that wasent bad enough my camera won't work since update either just stays on a black screen and freezes wish I never went near that update can see me Acc phoneing Samsung them self's

I was hesitant to go through with the update as I had heard some not so good comments with it.. my version now is: G935FXXU1BPHJ and what I've experienced with this version is that my phone hanged on a black screen but got resolved with a soft reset. Can anyone tell what the new version update dated Dec,'16 is for..? Thanks more power.

regarding my post earlier, my phone is bought from a authorized seller and no program modification or root, clean android OS. I just updated and the installation went smoothly, it rebooted just fine until I left my phone for a few minutes, when I need to use it, I can no longer open it. using soft/ hard reset, it will prompt the Samsung S7 home screen but will not continue. I will need to send my phone back to my home country to get it fixed to replace. I hope Samsung is reading this feedback.
After the update, my unit worked for a few days (with regular crashes). Last night, it crashed again and I couldnt restart it until the battery was drained. Its now a dead unit. Returned the unit to Samsung this morning and was requesting for a replacement instead of repair as I fear the repair will not guarantee that it will never crash again and again. They told me that it was subject for approval and it could take 2-3 weeks for the approval. Really Samsung?! Just like my Tab S 8.4 that had screen problems after the warranty lapsed, my S7 Edge, another top of the line model died less than 6 months of use. This is definitely my last Samsung anything ever. Premium price, worst than entry level reliability.
Real problems with Samsung Galaxy S7 update. Tried updating this morning - kept restarting update and asking to verify passcode - after about 5 times it went completely blank and couldn't use it at all despite battery light being on. Phone got very hot but there was no way to recovery start up. Just tried solution offered on this site (power +volume down) and have had home screen appear but on continuous looping of 'update loading / enter passcide'. Really wish I had not updated. Very concerned.
