Been a Sony user for over 8 years really love them why the hell every other fanboys get looped when sony do something samsung are good phones but cant bear the uglyness of them
nothing new and exciting from this phone...they simply rename it. the price is not worth it compared to other flagships out in market today. the design, same old boring one
iron wolve, 29 May 2016better buy galaxys7 guyAfter watching ad and read all the review and remark of ppl bought s7 last night for about $700 but I must say it's not even close to my z5p.Lowlight pics doesn't come clean as other said, and overall user experience not as good as my 7months old Xperia.... Very disappointed
Anonymous, 29 May 2016It safe to say that Sony fanboys outnumber Samsung and Apple fanboys on GSMarena. How did you know these statistics?
--, 29 May 2016Agree. And most of them is actually sony's marketing team.
If you said bad things about samsu... moreWARNING: LONG READ BUT WORTH THE SHOT
After reading countless posts from Sony fans and the likes, I've come to a rough conclusion as to why: it is that dependable.
Putting the price issue aside, you got all the essentials you need from a smartphone: great build and chipset, reliable OS, amazing camera(technical), battery that really lasts, and housing protection. Looks department seems to be preferential.
I've temporarily owned one for quite some time. Apparently, you'll get the gist on where those premium prices go despite the not-so impressive figures it bears. It will surprise you even more if you're a paper-specs junkie. Sadly, I don't have the financial resolve. Wait for a couple of months after the launch if you really want one. I (temporarily, not my money) owned a z3 compact.
The only complaint I've heard here (just 1 comment btw) is the heating on z5 series despite having a sink. I cannot prove to everyone if this is true and the one claiming it.
So when Samsung is bashed from what people deemed as a shortcoming, it really is a shortcoming. No two ways about it. Especially the Touchwiz: In my opinion, Android is already a sickly OS platform. Introduce another cancer and you get a not-so-often clunky performance. Touchwiz is still improving anyway and Samsung is right back on track after listening. They got the design and feature factors that people really loved. I previously owned a Note 3, Duos GT and Wave s8500.
On Apple: Yes, they are slick wall-huggers. But it is efficient. Then it's the battery capacity. Performance - a frightening improvement with each generation. It's performance degradation doesn't skip a bit until battery is zero. Their chips doesn't really care running low on power and keeps on performing well. iPhones are pressured from innovation demands, but I could not comment. OS update is a nightmare: update first and be a lab rat, then suffer from security glitches and lost data. Update smartly and you'll find yourself stuck in weeks reading apple forums. Storage space from apps and media files seems to be larger than in Android world. Again, if you ignore the price it is a wonderful device. I previously owned iPhone 4, iPod touch 4&5 and iPad mini.
Forgive the long post and hope I have contributed a bit of an insight to everyone. Thank you
Innosaint, 29 May 2016Then what happens when the 650 in xperia X is on par with(even performs better in other cases)... moremaybe it can in some cases but you can't sell a device on basis of only performance in some scenarios with price tag that it doesn't deserve. If that's your point Qualcomm should neither charge more or claim SD8xx as flagship SOC rather they should develop cheap ones like SD65xx. But you cannot deny the fact that X doesn't deserve flagship pricing nor to be called flagship, you can call X performance the flagship but X is mid ranger no doubt about that.

If you said bad things about samsung and apple product, some of the fans will defend it calmly.
But.. if you said bad things about sony, many many sony's fans will become crazy and blaming samsung.
falesh, 29 May 2016this is what happens when you try to sell a SD650 at price of SD820 and even more in some case... moreThen what happens when the 650 in xperia X is on par with(even performs better in other cases) the 820 on other products? Again the 820 on every other phone performs better than the 820 on GS7? So why won't a person pay more for better performance? It's only logical.
What a world of technology where actual performance is no deal. You do know that a flagship is a "FLAGSHIP" because it performs as one right? Say whatever you want the Xperia X has a flagship performance, hence a flagship price. It's actually more expensive will be your point but it also actually performs better.
I do not consider myself to be a fanboy of any manufacturer. I had a multitude of phones, hell, I'm currently using a Sony phone (Z3), but I simply do not understand the pricing of this phone. It is simply too much. The competition makes better for less.
Not bad, more than 6000 votes. last time iphone voters not this much. Gsmarena even had to re vote iphone to get attention lol. with the hardware just add 0,2Ghz cpu every year, it is easy to guess next iphone spec. This vote is not be reflect the sales anyway
It safe to say that Sony fanboys outnumber Samsung and Apple fanboys on GSMarena.
Please introduce any new features or sensors that other phone doesn't have...
Superb phone sony your camra your clearity n your hardware is Superb also..
Higher price than lg g7 - very futuristic article... Well, anyone can hope that sony allow 4K in X series, and that would be 1+ for poll results, like in Z1, but its not something new, just something we take for granted and sony banned this in X. Results as expected, I guess sony did not fall yet...
Anonymous, 29 May 2016After 4 months the phone will have price cut which is reasonableGonna wait till then
Like it or not, the xperia x is a great great phone let down by overprinting. The price tag is just ridiculous. Sony has done a great job of optimising battery and software. Just watch the speed tests vs other flagship phones by XEEETECHCARE on YouTube. It is almost as fast as the others and in some cases even beats them
To people who think its about cpu. Phone is not bad because it have SD650, that is actually good cpu, really similar to previous flagships chips.
Problem with this phone is overall package, price and Sony Marketing.
For 700Euro you would get medicore camera, weak speakers, average screen, good but not best performance, average battery, and not that great look.
Sony was advertising X series as new and fresh way, but all what they did was taking midrange last year model, put it in metal frame...
To be honest after they show X series, I can compare their marketing to feed the infant. Any one of you have kid? When kid dont want to eat, you show him spoon with something sweet he open mouth... and then you put spoon with food (its common trick for feeding babies when they dont want to eat)
And here we have Xperia X and X Performance... Sony show us Performance as Flagship... and then put on market normal X as a main phone, even if they not call it flagship...
And now Sony think that people would after buying it, wait for Xperia X Performance that would have premier similar to iPhone, and they think its good strategy to use only name "Sony Xperia" as a bait.
Even if XP would have 4k screen, its still can beat any phone on market that its already saturated and filled with models like Huaweii or Xiaomi that give users flagship look and performance for half of price, and Samsung/LG models that price get low really quick.
