Well, I'm a Moto fan, but Wave and Galaxy are seriously good handsets and I hope Samsung sells a lot of them. Their low-end offerings are cool as well. No need for bashing. ;-)

Nokia Q2 sells 111.8 Mn. Market share 42%. Up by 3% on YoY basis.

Samsung Q2 sells 63.8 Mn. Market share 24%. Up by 2% on YoY basis.

HTC, Motorola are up by around 2%. Apple is down by 2% and RIM by 1.5%. Due to market slowdown, many smaller companies went practically non existent during same year while market saw new computer hardware biggies like Dell entering in segment.

why do people mention the iphone in comments to articles that have nothing to do with it?

back to the article, samsung has made a healthy profit and is 2nd only to nokia in shifting devices. samsung is a good company looking to innovate, making better screens (wish they would keep up with demand tho). knocking the company is just silly. they have made some pretty good devices lately. btw am using the htc desire before anyone yells fanboy.

Samsung slowed down its profit due to its ugly phones... Do yourself a favor... Just make televisions... Apple rocks...

Ignorant Ifans...

Apple buys all its processors and memory from Samsung..
Then it buys (or rather steals) transmission technology from Nokia...
Then it buys the screens from LG...

Why do you think Iphones are much more expensive than other smartphones..
It's because Apple has to pay each of these companies for using their technology!
