AnonD-119121, 01 Jun 2016Use bluetooth earphone or any bluetooth audio contectivity..... Charge and use bluetooth Audi... moreHa, whatever. Do you charge your phone because you enjoy it or because you have to? Exactly. Given the choice of a device that requires charging (or even battery replacement for that matter) versus the same performance from a device that does NOT have that kind of dependency, I prefer the latter. Maybe you like to worry if your headset battery is low, but I submit that most people are not ready to worry about that yet.
Anonymous, 01 Jun 2016actually charging while having earphones on is not good, many times it has been proven and it ... moresmartphone batteries don't last longer than an year?? are you living under a rock?? my n8 is 5 years old, without a sim its got a whopping 14 days of battery life..
Anonymous, 01 Jun 2016actually charging while having earphones on is not good, many times it has been proven and it ... morePlaying audio is so light its not relevant to this. Its only when you do something intensive that abnormally overheats your device that its 'rumoured' to hurt your battery. I don't think there's ever been any proper testing of that either though.
Buy another accessory or replace your headphones! Yay! Thanks Apple! Thank you for innovating more ways for people to waste money when they really shouldn't have to! Why pay £10 for an MHL adaptor when you can pay £39 for a lightning to HDMI adaptor? Why use the headphones you know and love when you can spend a fortune on a new set with a lightning cable? Wooooooooooo!
Anonymous, 01 Jun 2016Good next iPhone 7s will ditch the lightning altogether.. No ports at all and Apple will force... moreEither that or they just expect you to buy a new phone each time the battery dies.
So yeah, as I said many times this move of removing Jack Port is ldiotic.
Not only in terms of thickness of phone(you can have 5-6mm device with that port) but also in terms of Audio Quality, Port is not a problem here, its all depend on audio decoding and most important, headphones. I can give you headphones with minijack3.5 port that would blow any Lighting/usb-c models you can find.
So this move is nothing more than another jump for money. And sadly, people gonna catch that bait and pay more money for another useless "invention"
Anonymous, 01 Jun 2016actually charging while having earphones on is not good, many times it has been proven and it ... moreWho are you to say that? Its my smartphone. And yes I am using my smartphone to listening to music while charging. RIP apple. I am not ditching my expensive 3.5 mm JBL headphones.
Anil, 01 Jun 2016Its just go back 2002-2004, Nokia ,Sony Ericsson use this technology. power cable and headphon... morehaha...i remember the days of Nokia S60 phones when it had PoP USB ports for charging and headphones jack. Even Sony W/K series spotted the same. Apple is now following their fathers footsteps ditching 3.5mm Jack.
Anonymous, 01 Jun 2016actually charging while having earphones on is not good, many times it has been proven and it ... moreIt's only about headphones. We have portable speakers, aux cables for when you play in the car. Another of my issues is battery consumption, charging multiple devices, carrying multiple devices like this adapter cable and let's face it some music apps are not so keen of giving the equaliser to Bluetooth devices.
Take my Redmi 2's music player for an example.
I feel apple is gambling with this move big time. They could be starting a trend or create a total flop.
Just what the public needed....another f****** accessory to waste money on and lug around.
Its just go back 2002-2004, Nokia ,Sony Ericsson use this technology. power cable and headphone jack is same...........Old Is Gold.....nothing new
Good next iPhone 7s will ditch the lightning altogether.. No ports at all and Apple will force users to buy proprietary wireless chargers.. Which will cost a whole lot more than a just a proprietary cable.. Good business
viveksubhash, 01 Jun 2016RIP apple..we'll miss youactually charging while having earphones on is not good, many times it has been proven and it is one of the reason batteries of smartphones nowadays don't last longer than a year, nayway you can still use BT audio then charge, or vice versa, not a problem at all
Anonymous, 31 May 2016hm... so you can no longer charge your phone and listen to your music at the same time. Major fail! apple will tell you that is the correct way to listen to music. haha
Reminds me of 2006 when phones had mp3 players but the 3.5 mm jack didn't come standard. I wonder how long before other OEMs follow suit.
if you change the main interface, make it standard...
USB-C. Not some proprietary lighting.
