Now, N8 had a raise before it's launched
considering the large sensor (by compact cameras standard) the okeish lens, and other new stuff it has... i thing the price is about right :|

As for N8 the price is about right, including high European taxes plus some headroom for retail-shops. (VAT in EU is around 25%, it varies between countries.)

To all that are whining about the price not being 370 €, the 370 was the price BEFORE tax and NOT the retail price. You people have real reading comprehension problems if you didn't get that. Next time read everything and put your mind into it.
And the price being too much...Here's a question: Do you have any understanding about the quality of the camera on N8? Do you know what's really important when you want to have a great camera?
Two things:
-high quality optics
-image sensor size (physical size, bigger is better)
Now the N8 has both. It's using Carl Zeiss optics. If you don't already know, Carl Zeiss is synonymous to high quality optics. Probably the best there is and has been for decades. It also has the biggest camera sensor EVER in a mobile phone. The sensor in N8 is even BIGGER than the one in my Canon Ixus 200 IS. Now that's a real 12 Mpix digital camera from Canon (not some cheap crappy no-name camera) and N8 has got a better sensor. And it has a proper Xenon flash as a bonus. Not some crappy LED.
Now, you do understand that it costs money to have these things, don't you? These things that Android phones don't have. N8 is not some plastic Android with shitty camera lacking even an LED flash. N8 is a real smartphone for adults who have developed above the useless Hello-Kitty-eye-candy-FX-for-children crap. (Besides those useless FX only slow things down and eat battery power.)
So if you are serious about your phone's camera (that can really replace your quality pocket camera) and not just some teenager who want's a toy to play with, there really isn't even a real point to compare N8 to other phones (Androids or iPhones) because N8 is in the league of it's own.
P.S. You don't have to buy N8 if you don't like it or it's price. Buy something else then. Simple isn't it. :)
Samsung Galaxy S is already published in TV Commercial at Indonesia...NOKIA, when exactly N8 will be published at Indonesia?

Anonymous, 03 Aug 2010Nokia said that the price will be 370 euro before taxes. In the EU VAT is from 15 to 20 %. 20%... moreN8 is gonna be 600 - 700USD that means for me 800CAD :(
Nokia said that the price will be 370 euro before taxes. In the EU VAT is from 15 to 20 %. 20% on 370 is 74 = 444 euro. Add to that the profit that Amazon or any other retailer will be making and you got your self the right price. It is really easy..
The price in the US will be, as always, cheaper than in the EU simply because of different taxation systems and currency exchange rates
nokia is right at the stated price, dudes:)
I really hope Nokia honours their original pricing for this phone, as these prices are beyond crazy!
