if this camera could some how keep the details of the nightvision and have another camera that can capture good low light colour this would be amazing but if it were so easy maybe everyone would do it
as for the pricing it is super justified there is no way this technology could be cheap its the only smartphone with this tech which means no bulk or mass production to keep the cost down
IR light as add-on to phone is enough, why go through trouble to buy expensive phone with 2 back cameras and just use lower res one? Every camera can see IR light. I see it just as cheap mid-range.
ZionCity, 03 Jun 2016At 4MP resolution not too good to sell to TMZ hahahahahaIf I understand it correctly. it's a dual camera setup. 13 Main+4 NightVision. and frontie 5.
Nice phone. Really stands out from the sea of Galaxys and cheap Chinese phones.
G4M3R, 03 Jun 2016Helio x10 probably? But almost everybody would have expected a SD820 for device this expensiveP10 or X10, yea. Everybody wants an 820 but a lot don't take realistic views on it. If it is one of those 2 chips, that's perfect. Same with the 4.8" 720p. All it needs is a 3000mAh (or more) battery and I'm pretty much sold on it.
Samsung and Apple are jealous of this nighrvision i guess. f1.7 of samsung still won't match this night vision unless they copy it mabye in 2030 because of MONEY! Take what you can samsung and apple and give us cheap phones back!
nightblue, 03 Jun 2016Yeah, totally a phone made for the paparazziAt 4MP resolution not too good to sell to TMZ hahahahaha
that durability is tempting..though nightvision??? hmm...
Gibby, 03 Jun 2016Night vision shots - great - complete and utterly useless to anyone (other than stalkers!)Yeah, totally a phone made for the paparazzi
RC255, 03 Jun 2016The 2.2 8core cpu is more than likely a Mediatek variant, not a bad thing anymore. I say this ... moreHelio x10 probably?
But almost everybody would have expected a SD820 for device this expensive
I wonder what the quality would be if you want to record or snap photos at the night sky.
Definitely interesting device even though it might have MediTek wich I'm not a fan of.
Frankly I'm very close to buying it but it's the first time I've heard about this brand. And I'm a phoneachoolic.
That CAT S60 impressed me a lot too. Why don't they make high end phones like this?
I've been dreaming about an IR & thermal camera phone for a long time.
Night vision shots - great - complete and utterly useless to anyone (other than stalkers!)
The 2.2 8core cpu is more than likely a Mediatek variant, not a bad thing anymore. I say this given the midrange specs of the device so I'd say - personally - it sticks to a midrange chipset.
I like the design, adds a little personality with the arced top and bottom on the screen. Really not a fan of the orange option but in black it looks quite smart. The obvious stand out feature is the night vision camera, if it can be used alongside the regular sensor then this could be a massive advantage to low light shots, something a lot of phones still struggle with. I can't see a lot of people using it otherwise. I do wonder how much the camera will add to the price of the device, which, ultimately, is what it comes down to. Is it worth it? Hopefully we'll hear more soon.
