Anyone notice its Microsoft being innovative with all sorts of stuff while Apple has gotten fat and lazy on iPhone profits and don't innovate on anything.
Well ish Microsoft so i wouldn't hope much from them....Except Concepts :]
DeathlyAssassin, 05 Jun 2016I dont think the hardware and software capabilities are that far off for mobile VR. Already Go... more...Jump straight onto the VR wagon but before that comes true Im quite sure that Google would've already enhanced VR.
I dont think the hardware and software capabilities are that far off for mobile VR. Already Google has announced daydream and the current Adreno 820 runs at >400Gflops so Microsoft should work on bringing Desktop Windows 10 to arm chips instead of wasting time in flashbacks. Personally I would first like to play PC games of years 2007-12 running smoothly on phones than to
Pro Gamer, 04 Jun 2016Now waiting till they delevope the VR and become like the one on the anime "Sword Art Online".My sentiments exactly!
Tarwin, 04 Jun 2016But wouldn't this just basically work only when you stand in one spot and only move your head ... moreI don't think it works quite the way you are thinking. Its basically pre-rendered.stuff in all possible states it could be in.
Pro Gamer, 04 Jun 2016Now waiting till they delevope the VR and become like the one on the anime "Sword Art Online".yup the stage its at now is not good, majority of what vr is really doing now is turning your head... for 700 dollars or more or go cheap with phones to just also turn your head around and for "actual" im going to have to pay a crap tonne of cash to have a capable computer and these "capable computers" are still struggling

But wouldn't this just basically work only when you stand in one spot and only move your head (or possibly if your head is "on rails"). If you were to move freely through a scene pre-rendering would mean creating an untenable number of PICs. So anything Vive-like would be out of the question as would most stuff aimed at the Rift as well. Basically you'd get a 360 degree view of a 2D game but not an actually 3D game.
Basically today when you use pc VR goggles or phones with goggles with apps like TrinusVR that allows playing pc games, pc(and phone if used) need to render x2 more frames than normally. It was one of reason why I never could play more demanding games like Quake4 or HL2 when I had oculus for one week and now when I play using Trinus app.
I really hope this technology would move VR to another stage because allo what blocking now this technology is nothing more than software and prices. And removing at least one problem would be nice
"with the new generation of GPS's from both Nvidia and AMD struggling to come through."
Man GPS has come a long way if it's what finally enables VR!!!
