blackberry private is not so private in quickly bending over & giving it up to authorities dropping a dime on a whim of improprieties. unless it's the authorities crashing & wiping themselves as they sit on the throne looking for a cellular handset unlocked & untethered from any carrier and only then does it even begin to be private and secured.
Priv is the closest phone to a Nexus. You have the choice to use Blackberry apps or not.. You can have a pure Android phone with the Priv
Samsdung bloatware is infamous.. Thats why my friend dumped it for a Nexus 6 second best phone after the priv
Danny Xue, 08 Jun 2016How dare you say that the blackberry private has potential. The biggest issue with blackberry ... moreExcuse me but my Galaxy Core is better than all of your phones combined. At least Core owners don't return their phones cause the phone is bad...
How dare you say that the blackberry private has potential. The biggest issue with blackberry is that they can't get their heads out of the sand to notice that the build quality and customer support has been lacking. Like how dat boi said "blackberry doesn't treat customer well as the Canadian variant of the price doesn't have wireless charging.".

I believe my 1997 Avalon is much more innovative. The Blackberry priv is nothing compared to my Apple iPhone. It's literally being recalled due to bad sales. Thanks
the blackberry priv is the pinnacle of innovation since the wheel in ancient times. the blackberry priv in fact can replace the 17' wheels on my 2001 honda odessey because of how paperweight-y it is. it's very creaky too, just like my 2001 honda odessey, which is in fact the second best pinnacle of innovation.
Priv is the best Samrtphone (not as per spec or speed) but as per the functionality is concerned. No other phone is as useful as Priv. This is some career jib and I heard that they try to push i and S for their marketing money paid. Too bad truth never comes out.
I sincerely beg to differ! The Blackberry Priv is a solid device and differentiates itself from all the others. Even the flagship phones don't have the aura the Priv has. There is theatre as well as subtlety! Mine is being updated as I type this.

I used to work at our local pc store and I am a qualified and certified technician who has torn apart, diagnosed and built countless pc's. I think that you are just full of crap. Oh and the reason I personally use Apple products is not due to IT illiteracy at all but because I like them and can afford them. Same as a lot of people. You are entitled to your opinion (even though its worth less than zero to me) but stop bashing products that you don't like or can't reach.
The Priv is the best android device I had it is classy no other device (toy like) have the class and to top it there are the almost stock android (nexus like) and the BlackBerry apps top of all is the old school external keyboard (I am in love with it)
again it is not a toy or a gaming device it a really the best android for working men who needs the flexibility of the android and the class/quality use to long time ago..
Thank you blackberry for the Priv I am thinking of buying another and stock it incase of I lost the one I am using now.
Priv is a lot better than any ios or android device i've ever had.
That said it's not as good as my passport or q10 unless you judge it on google plays app eco system.
The android hub, calendar, alarms, file manager and browsers are nowhere near as good as bb10 which is pretty disappointing, but the expandable viewing area thanks to the keyboard (which takes time to get used to is fantastic)
Would be nice if they could keep the apps and google play services but make it less androidy.
Linas, 07 Jun 2016That is very good point. You just reinforce what I am saying... Only Samsung and Huawei is mak... moreHardware wise we have hit a certain ceiling due to thermal constraints much like laptops. What we have seen is cpu throttling.
What the next stage is to evolve away from purely hardware and into software to offer better experience. To be able to run on less juice but squeeze more battery life out of it. Or to have a leaner Android but then they lose the ability to use playstore. What we have now is a spec race that doesn't mean much to overall experience and a race to the bottom. As a consumer this is fine as long as your device never gets faulty.
But in terms of BB OS they priced their initial device too high, maybe due to thinking they would need to reduce every quarter as OEM's are releasing a device every quarter. But to be fair to them they have taken security updates serious on Android. But there is simply is too many low cost OEM's diluting the pond.
Very suspicious why At&t won t lower the Price of the Priv when you can get it Much cheaper on Amazon and Bhphoto video . Is At&t under pressure from the big Pomme and sammy not to lower the price of the Priv? Is At&t force to buy huge quantities of iphones and samsungs that they try to unload.. very suspicious indeed.. Look at online stores for your Priv..
yee, 07 Jun 2016for fk sake really?1 switching is not for half brained people. give android to typical apple ... morereally? Android is so much easier to use than ios. Plug and play. Easy file management. Go on play store and easily download whatever pirated-friendly apps you need. Install most paid apps for free by googling its apk. The only thing the average ios users will get lost with android is based on user interface, and even then, it's just a matter of finding that all apps shortcut.

I am software tester sitting on huge pile of devices including apple. Not only that, I was as well apple fan at some point and was selling apple products.. I've only seen it in pictures, but the keyboard doesn't seem that good.
It's recessed, quite small and quite narrow.
I would prefer side slide keyboards again.
So you have a better keyboard when you are going to type.
But for a quick note or quick reply, you could just use the onscreen keyboard.
This seems like too much of a compromise, that isn't that much better than typing on the screen as the keys are cramped.
Another reason for the thumbs down by AT&T users could be the hideous bloatware that AT&T insist putting on their Android devices. The apps are hogging all the memory running in the background. If you buy a non AT&T BB Priv elsewhere, your experience will be different but still Android is Android. If you don't like it, you won't like it on the Priv either.
