Anonymous, 09 Jun 2016have to ask, why is honeycomb never on this chart goes straight from 2 to 4Honeycomb was for tablets only.
Glad to have Motorola.......Updates are on time and no heavy OS like Samsung, LG, Sony , HTC etc etc.....
If you want to use Android then Nexus and Motorola are the best choices
ithehappy, 08 Jun 2016Tell your flawed analogy to someone else. Apple can update 5 year old iOS, then why not Google.but shouldn't the device still be functional to honestly declare the update of the phone? with each update it seems the older phones get slower and even less reliable. until you finally get to buy a new iphone.

GOOGLE needs to pressure suppliers like Samsung to push the Android (6) updates down the line to end-users. Clearly, Samsung want users to buy new phones and so don't push software upgrades (to just piss off customers?!). As a Note 3 user, others are just catching up to the specs now (3 yrs later) and I'm still stuck on Android 5. WTF Samsung, I have choices for my next phone and Samsung is NOT looking good!!

riri, 08 Jun 2016please upgrade all android to mashmallowthats not google job. they released it already. up to companies like samsung and phone carriers to send down the update.
Android updates are senseless.most of the time you regret updating your device.and there is no fix for a long long time.

I normally use my Moto E 2nd G phone whenever I'm not at home and the iPhone one I always I leave it at home for emergency.
Flare Hunter, 08 Jun 2016Hold on froyo don't give up. hahahahahahhahaha
chrizzz, 08 Jun 2016Have you actually used any of the older "up to date" ios devices? I currently own all iphones... moreIf this would be true, you would know that iPhone 5 is still usable because it is 3 times faster than 4s and I know many people who have 5 or 5c (I owned 5 back in the days) and it is (was with mine) everything ok. And it's not like you said every Update made it slower, Apple is at the Moment making experience on older devices better, just search on YouTube for iAppleBytes

I currently own all iphones and ipads past iphone 4/ipad original and i can tell u each and every update HEAVILY degrades performance and battery life on all devices..
yea you can say iphone 4s,5 and ipad 2,3 are up to date , but at what cost?
They are all of them unusable..and i do mean UN-USABLE..takes 4 seconds to launch settings app, safari redraws any webpage after 2 tabs are opened and every 3 app you open forces most of the previous to shut..no thanks, i take a fully functional froyo android that actualy works over a destroyed up-to-date 4s, any day.
People look at Android update percentages as small. However Android has 1.5 billion monthly active users. So even a 1% difference works out to 15 million users. Also Android has some of the most inexpensive handsets around. In some countries you can buy a Android device for $15. Does anyone really care if you get updates on a device that cost that low. Next year comes around, you can spend another $15-$40 to get a newer device with updated hardware and software.
I also see some saying that Apple updates their older devices, but you also had to pay up to 20-25 times the price. Apple doesn't have any devices that are inexpensive. So until that time. Android is the best solution for the masses.
