Every single Galaxy flagship since the GS5 had sime sort news saying 'May come with an iris scanner' prior it's release, and nope, no iris scanner to be seen. Better be true this time.
Lilrick90, 08 Jun 2016I can attest to the battery draining. Im on my 2nd one, first one once it started acting dumb,... moreAny battery has a lifetime and after about 300 cycles, their capacity tend to go down. But the issue you guy are mentioning (battery % jumps from say 25% to 4% or something) might be a software issue.
Had the same problem with my Note 10.1 2014 running kitkat (not too bad, jumps upto a maximum of 15% when its below 30%). Its a 2+ years old device and just got the lollipop update which fixed it. Still the battery capacity is lower from when the device was new offcourse, but no more rapid jumps in battery %.
.DeadPool., 09 Jun 2016Iris scanner :/ !!! just improve the battery life ,enough Gimmicks already.just believe me that people who works on batteries globally worries more than you about this problem and they have nothing to do with people that work on security issues like iris scanner.
i think that every technology makes something better is good, just stop complaining everyone.i don t mind if i have more security options why anyone should.we re expecting the "king" to come back and we hope to be as pretty as s7 edge with more s pen functions,to be waterproof,to have the best camera in the market and to be the quickest phone in the world.

Anonymous, 08 Jun 2016Pack of lies. Note 4 family here.Nope.. The same thing happened to me. After 18 months my GN4 would randomly shut down and the battery would drop from 20 to 4 pct... I posted this 2 months ago on the GN5 forum. A new battery fixed it. I would like a removable battery on the gn7 for this reason but it won't happen.
instead of iris scanner just please upgrade battery life, fingerprint works great already.

Im on my 2nd one, first one once it started acting dumb, it would jump large amount of percentages like 22% to 3 etc and die as soon as you put it on the charger. It happened to my mom the other day as well. And now with the Verizon marshmallow update, this battery drain git worse smh. You can only hope Samsung can really improve it on the note 7

Bomj, 08 Jun 2016Yes. Same as in the new Lumias. It uses infra-red light or something. Thanks for the reply. So iris might be a great feature after all now maybe V10 successor or G6 will hace it so I sure hope

UnKnown-original, 08 Jun 2016They should have focused on finding a way to make the battery removable, not on adding the iri... moreLg tried that with metal and look at the problems with the structural integrity they have.
If Samsung was to do it they'd have to find a way to do it with glass or switch to metal and lose wireless charging. And they'd also lose ip68. Both features are key points and Samsung focus on them when advertising. And even if they did do that, they'd still have to find a way to not screw up like lg did.
Fact is, it has nothing to do with an iris scanner anyway. Whether or not they did try to implement a removable battery wouldn't impact anything else.
The most plausible way to get a removable battery is to revert to plastic, and I don't see that happening.
LG superfan, 08 Jun 2016Will the iris scanner work in dark?Yes. Same as in the new Lumias. It uses infra-red light or something.
