It still falls down on how are you planning to use your phone. why buy something which is overspec yet youre just going to use it for an alarm clock or for sending sms. its like buying a sports car and use it in a city full of traffic jam. point is youll never possible use the full capacity unless youre a hardcore modder or gamer.
neontetra, 12 Jun 2016never understood why people look only at the specs, its part of my problem with buying a phone... morewell i didnt know about this stuff, thanks for enlightening. i guess it just means i have to close my eyes and go for HTC10. coz HTC one m8 is the best phone i have used to date and it won against the likes of lg g pro 2, note 3 , note 4. yeah it had boomsound and all the amazing stuff but the thing i loved the most was sense UI, which not for a single second slowed down or laged like note 3 , 4. LG has stupid battery timing issues.
neontetra, 12 Jun 2016never understood why people look only at the specs, its part of my problem with buying a phone... moreI must say I am surprised to see you writing about semiconductors when you can't even get capital letters and the correct use of 'their' - not there.
Your comment of unknown brands purchasing lower quality parts is also inaccurate. Some of the best phones out come from lesser known brands - and not just in the phone world. Lesser known brands, cheaper parts, fewer/worse service centres have no definitive link to the overall quality of the end device. A lot is based on bias and assumption which then gets turned into 'fact' despite not being true. Yes, some phones have a lower quality due to budget constraints but you can not generalise on that. Meizu and Xiaomi have almost no standing here in the UK yet they make - almost unanimously - some of the best devices out. How many people had heard of Huawei or ZTE a couple of years ago? How many people today know about ZOPO, EleFone, Oukitel, BlackPhone, YotaPhone, THL (they even own Alcatel)? Yet they make some brilliant devices at half of that which Samsung charge for a matching device. Everyday people pay for the name of the manufacturer when the main names mess up and fail as much as the smaller names.
Sony → Price > quality
My zen 5 lte still fine after 2years, only battery life a bit dropping and thats not a big problem for me. Any battery will drop in 2years++. Dont wanna battery drop? Just never use or charge ur phone
AnonD-510275, 12 Jun 2016Just see it in 2 years and which phone will have more problem. I know zenfone is good phone. B... moreTrue! I have a sony 4 years old with no problem even on battery. And i have zenfone 2 bought last year and now battery is weak. So my prepared list for my next phone either sony or lg. Bebause i have also a lg of 4 years old in still good condition. My samsung 3 years old is now starting to easily drain the battery. So sony or lg for my choice. My money relly wroth for these brand.
never understood why people look only at the specs, its part of my problem with buying a phone from a brand im not comfortable with. asus i will admit makes a solid motherboard, but there phones haven't really as the saying goes, gone through the weather yet.
if you know anything about semiconductors , not all parts are created equal. lets say you have a 12 inch silicon wafer making sd820 parts, the most expensive ones come from the inside say 4 inches of that wafer, and the further you get away from the center the lower the quality of the part becomes. until you reach the edge of the wafer which normally bins out as scrap. the ones from the center of the wafer are even the best overclockable parts and most durable the further away from the center the worse the part becomes, which is why 1 company say samsung pays more for the part then say a budget company would because there going to purchase the lower quality parts. so before i put any stock into a company i dont care how good there service centers are(mind you that is a plus) but i want to know its going to be rare that i use that service center.
Asus done a smart move with their zenfone lineup. If they weren't the first ones to release a phone with 4GB of ram, i doubt they would be this popular. Zenfone 3 series is over hyped. I'm sure many will be disappointed later.
I choose ASUS Zenfone 3 Deluxe because its the best flagship smartphone I think.
I dont choose other smartphone because :
Sony : bad SC and bad specs in my country.
LG : bad specs and bad software updates on low-mid phones.
Zuk : Zuk cant fill 20% regulation in my Country plus their fake certification on Zuk Z1 issue.
Jolla : its exclusive for europe and I cant trust their OS.
ASUS (Zenfone 3) : because its mid-range phone. (Zenfone 3 Deluxe its flagship smartphone so its will be the best smartphone)
AnonD-510275, 12 Jun 2016Just see it in 2 years and which phone will have more problem. I know zenfone is good phone. B... moreI agree with you! I am not a hater of chinese company but I recommended not to buy a chinese phone because their are a lot of problem but sometimes they make also good phones! so there are different experienced to the chinese smartphones! sorry for my bad english
Just see it in 2 years and which phone will have more problem. I know zenfone is good phone. But sony low end's durability is better.
AnonD-265317, 12 Jun 2016are u calling asus cheap quality brand... i guess u haven't used one of their zenbooks. its a... moreWell, i think zenfone isn't cheap model, just cheaper model and chinesse brand actualy make a good price because its production cost is under another famous brand, like samsung, lg and sony.
funny.. well can u compare mediatek quadcore A53 processor of E5 xperia with SD820 of zenfone 3 Deluxe ?
are u calling asus cheap quality brand... i guess u haven't used one of their zenbooks. its all about the price point dude and what they can offer in that range .. zenfone 2 last year had lower price tag.. 500 dollar zenfone 3 deluxe will sure make u wonder. and btw sony has not put alot of effort or any effort i think into xperia X and xperia X performance and yet ridicolously high price. SD650 powered X with same old camera is costing around 600 dollars, in that money u can buy 128 GB/ 6 GB zenfone 3 deluxe. by the looks of it either sony thinks customers are fools that will pay extra or they have given up on mobile business or they will lauch Z6 in the fall (one yr after Z5) with better everything.
Anonymous, 12 Jun 2016Because it's Sony! You can't compare cheap quality brands to Sony. What about the X model? Pfft.
AnonD-510275, 12 Jun 2016Well, E5 > Zen3. Why?Because it's Sony! You can't compare cheap quality brands to Sony.
