actually the android 7 started already to roll out,r 2 phones on the market that have the new android N,so it seems that asus like to be always late with their update, and so will happen again with the next and the next and so on,they just love to sit on their fat asses and do nothing and get payed, and they came out with the most stupid idea ever, let's get some beta testers, and they did came with a stable beta of MM,which i did installed and it works fine for a beta, that should have being out for every1 and continue the update starting from there, the crap with lets wait to launch zenfone 3 is really stupid for a simple reason, all ppl can have right now the zenfone 2 that didn't got the update yet,so,how can u trust them to buy the new zenfone 3 ? just to see that it will happen the same thing over and over again? so,if some1 there think like that it should be fired,it is the most stupid thinking ever in the marketing, make every1 happy that already have ur products and u can go on normally with the new product too, that is the normal way everywhere in the world,so just this hold back is coz they are very lazy and i have to say, stupids,it is true,is like they are trying to remake the MM from scratch for this specific cpu, bleah, what a bunch of idiots, how it is possible that CM13 was so fast adapted to this phone and it works and they are not able to do so ?
AnonD-565600, 28 Jul 2016well, nougat is almost out.How bout that ASSus, just skip marshmallow update n gif us android 7!!!or myb 3 years later

nano86, 28 Jul 2016ASUS really dissapointed me, it sucks that they released marshmellow on lower tier phones like... moreI completely agree with you brother.. btw Asus is not a small company.. if they want they can lauch the update today.. right now.. but they aren't doing it for a reason maybe.. I think we will get the update when the zenfone 3 will go up for sale.. I think zenfone 3's and zenfone 2's software will be very similar so they don't us to experience it earlier than the zenfone 3.. what an idea.. lol.. Asusis not getting that they are pissing their customers/user.. they failed to satisfy us only because of the update..
ASUS really dissapointed me, it sucks that they released marshmellow on lower tier phones like the zenfone selfie and others and not on it's flagship. This should have been the first one to get the update.
And don't you give put the blame on intel. Yes ok they made a power hungry chip put it performs very well and would do so even more if android would propperly allow it.
As for the dificulty to port marshmallow on it.....THERE IS NO SUCH THING. It freaking x86 standard architecture that has been around for decades. If ASUS's software engineers are crap at it it's not Intel's faul!!!!
Omg Asus.. the last update is really really bad! My battery optimization was going great but that update ruined everything! It's draining very fast and stand by time.. omg.. it's so bad.. Asus.. I am sure that even you guys regret developing this software.. I am also sure that most of the workers at Asus don't use zenfone.. trust me this is the truth..
Alex777, 25 Jul 2016So ASUS now has it's trolls here trying to blame Intel on missing Zenfone 2 Marshmellow update... moreIt's so obvious... ASUS is pathetic. Can't even troll properly.
Hey guys I updated my device with the new update they launched hours ago.. and it's just a minor update..and guys I will suggest all you to wait and not update the device manually... I am continuously sending emails to Asus for the update and they said a review is on process. They will let us know when it will launch.. and guys.. we have waited for so long so I hope we can wait a little bit more..
sorry my mistake
was so excited that I clicked the zenfone laser update releaze notes T.T
just now an update got released @.@
26th July and still no update here in Argentina... should I do it manually or wait? (days... not months :D)
Asus ZenFone 2 is a great phone but only two issues no updates and battery drainage
Sandy, 12 Jul 2016I have updated to marshmallow my Asus 2 (550ML) and now its useless. nothing is working. call ... moreHow and there's no update unless you did it manually
My Zenfone is awesome and I think its unfair to put the core of the blame on ASUS and Intel
Google needs to get its act together and make their more like Windows where the base OS can be updated on any device through Google itself like Windows and Microsoft Update and then all the other specific manufacturer drivers and launchers can sit on top of Android through each manufacturer's website.
Smartphones are mini computers and Apple Macbook Pros and Airs have been using Intel Chips so maybe the Intel M processors will go to phones and tablets and maybe iPhones too.
If Google address their fragmentation problem and placed the processor drivers in the core OS it would be way better. Before having a go at ASUS trying getting updates from Samsung, HTC and others on a prompt basis. On the Nexus devices give you that that is why Google needs to be more accountable.
So ASUS now has it's trolls here trying to blame Intel on missing Zenfone 2 Marshmellow update? Wow! They posting under different nicknames but they are singing the same tune in bad English.
Tersal68, 08 Jul 2016Not a great PR for anyone thinking of upgrading to a newer ASUS phone in the future. ASUS pack... moreWell Asus phones are really good. The only problem was the Intel processors used, which were having a very very bad technology in it. It drains battery, difficult to program and so on... This is why all updates are delayed, with the withrawal of intel from mobile chips after this terrible chips they made, no further support is available now... If only Asus used snapdragon processors...
Doc, 11 Jul 2016Now July 11th and still no update or news. Very poor marketing effort. Asus please, just ha... moreThe phone was good, except for its heart, the processor. Its so lame. Intel used to make such worse chips, which drains battery and is not easy to program... I regret for that... If I knew it before, I would have gone for a snapdragon device... Intel is so amateur in phones...
Anonymous, 12 Jul 2016Maybe asus should replace our zenfone 2 phones, make a worldwide refund, because zenfone 2 phon... moreYeah that bloody intel is responsible for destroying all the flagships of asus upto zenfone 2... If ZE551ML/ZE550ML had snapdragon processors, then i bet, with all these features and customization, zenfone 2 would have been a real flagship killer...
I really like my 551ML Zenfone 2, but yeah like everyone said it's getting worse because there is no update and firmware update. Almost every other flagship phones already got Marshmallow. It just makes me sad that the Asus Zenfone 2, despite it's not a very new phone now, it deserves a quick update to Marshmallow. I'm starting to think to sell my 551ML and buy another phone, but probably not Asus.. What I'm really hoping now is the Marshmallow update! It's July now guys come on
