Yeah, cause it really does wonders for battery to load and reload the very apps which could ultimately stay in ram (which is always on anyway). If they care so much about battery then merly stop running services after a threshold, don't kill the app, you pretty much nullify the reason of (why) anyone would buy a phone with extra ram.
it reminds me last year's Samsung. Such a waste of RAM, all because of the aggressive ram manager...
It saddens me 1+ did this to a device that boasts having 6GB of RAM. Before tweaking the max app count is 20. 20!? Shameful! Y'all remember the OPX having issues of performance cuz they LIED of having a 801 snapdragon AB version, but really it was an AA? smh.
If too lazeh;
1) root, get build prop editor
2) search for ro.sys.fw.bg_apps_limit=20 and change to a number no more than 60
3) enjoy, spread the word!
No point having 6gb of ram and limiting to 20 app and then saying you're free to modify.
Its like having a car with 400 bhp but speed limiter set at 160 km/H and saying you're free to modify
A HP should be sold by the manufacturer to tap it's max potential possible
Want better battery life experience, put in a bigger battery
OnePlus must know if the user know if has many apps on background makes battery drain faster so OnePlus dont need to do this.
mir, 18 Jun 2016What's the point of the huge amount of RAM when you're going to be stingy in using all of it.The extra ram is still used for cached processes and stuff.
looking at the pic below i can say with confidence that thise are preety basic apps and my samsung core prime(1gb ram) can handle the third of them so 6x gain isn't that much of an improvement. also how about all those clips online showing op3 easily handling much more tho?
fkin sales scam!
LOL! They put in 6 gigs or RAM and then put in 20 apps limit to utilise it! Hmm, I wonder when they were drunk, for the former or the latter!
Anyway, jokes apart, it was pretty simply to change it anyway.
