Edge is completly unusable because it can not even import all my Chrome bookmarks in many folders, and Opera is also unusable because of the way it handles bookmarks, so batterylife... is irrelevant when unusable!
Adblock Plus and CyberGhost, both free, are all the anonymity... I need, and is far better than the way Opera do the same!
I can make a grap like that saying that the old IE4 is better that all of them... so what is the point?
Another thing this test fail to mention is the laptop model. Not all laptop will be the same.
Looking at some comments here i guess you guys are confused about this article, The article is about laptop battery not your phone battery.
I regularly use Firefox, when it comes to plugins it is the best.
Opera is very lightweight and resource friendly, works well on even older PCs.
Chrome on the other hand is extremely resource hungry, slows down PCs with low resources like ram. But performance wise I don't see much difference between Chrome and Firefox.
I think they are technologically two best browsers at the moment. Opera is much more user friendly and convenient, while Edge offers the smoothest experience, especially on touch screens.
Don't know about battery life but opera actually is very fast and smooth browser. Better than chrome or firefox. I've tried almost all browsers in play store. But opera is the best.
Bomj, 22 Jun 2016So Opera in their test used an experimental "Developer Version" browser, with battery saver, a... moreWhere as I use a stock version of opera beta and it has both, adblock and power save,it's available in Google's playstore for anyone to install, its hardly a "developer" only app...
Anonymous, 22 Jun 2016So, Opera is faster on the developer edition and slower on the consumer editionno opera is fastest. test it yourself by loading a heavy website like ubisoft in multiple browsers. for better results use gsm only mode on mobile data to restrict available speed
Same as with phones here, they are compared using full power, not with battery saving modes. While samsung and sony are known for using such feature, there is little to hear about the others. So just having such feature is good enough as nobody compares. But I'm not sure if its ok to compare opera to edge as opera got a lot more features build in and edge is like clean new egg with just most necessary things(like every ms app in W10).
Opera is the one that can use less data by compressing and decompressing stuff when loading pages, I think.
actually opera is best in terms of speed and features. also light in weight. the only reason i can see why people dont use is lack of awareness
opera is by far the best browser i have used..i left it for mozilla due to poor rendering of some websites..otherwise for multitab browsing it can hold some 20 full graphic tabs without breaking a sweat
firefox is my favourite now but it lags like hell after i loaded about 50-60 bookmarks and 2 video grabbers...now don't judge this is how people browse...they watch a youtube song and say hey i wanna watch it offline...
i have never been a fan of IE and i have not used Edge a lot due to it looking like an overblown mobile browser on a 22in screen...
FYI ucbrowser is available on windows store..sunno how good it is on that but on the mobile, it gives turbo mode for downloads...
also check out opera 12.0 or older in opera archives..they provide customizable right mouse gesture...awesome for non-gaming mouse browsing..
So, Opera is faster on the developer edition and slower on the consumer edition
amangoel9, 22 Jun 2016Still i prefer Mozilla over all other browsers on windows OS. Because Chrome is too much heavy... moreSame here. I am using Firefox since version 4. Firefox add-on can easily beat chrome. And in terms of customizable Firefox crush chrome like an ant. :P
