idk about everyone else, but im interested in reading more about the Defy from Motorola. Think about it, a phone that can withstand a drop or 2, waterproof during the weather, and scratch resistant glass? Plus the pics reveal a possibile flash on the back of the phone and Android OS. Is no one else excited for something like this to be available to the public?
I'll record my own hurricane weather reports with this thing!! lol....

While I find my original Milestone the best phone I've ever had, I have to warn people who love custom roms and such. Locking the bootloader is the worst idea ever and you should ask the sales person does this one have locked loader too.

That's always the case: you live in LA, you buy a local phone. You get screwed.
I knew the chances were high, especially being... MOTOJRK! You should always, I say always, avoid Motorola. Don't you learn from your past mistakes?!? If you really want the Milestone, buy the european version. That's what I did months ago... all 3G frequencies I need, froyo coming soon...
It's the best phone, I agree. But buy from a more respected market.

[deleted post]Which part did I lie? Isn't X10 STILL running on Android 1.6? Isn't the talk quality of X10, if not most (particularly bar/non-flip) phones from the company NEVER offer any technology simiilar to Crystal Talk?
Did I lie about Milestone CANNOT be DOWNGRADED to Android 1.6?

100 Moto, 02 Sep 2010Guess I was lucky to save US$357 by missing the "sale" of XT701 by my local carrier.... moreSorry forgot to mention, as though I'm not an outdoor "active" person, the Defy also looks good, especially for being a rugged phone, with 3.7in touchscreen mon. Hope it can be priced around US$250 and I'll get one as well.

Guess I was lucky to save US$357 by missing the "sale" of XT701 by my local carrier. Despite being a proud owner of Milestone since Feb, and the fact Android 2.2 upgrade will likely be available on the original Milestone. Still this unit looks good with improved keyboard and flash.
Last year it took HK about a month to get the Milestone after the release in Europe...just "almost" for Christmas (but with minor bugs). So hope this phone can be released "before" Christmas so more can buy it as Christmas gifts.

- charging customers for near US$700 in April 2010 for a phone running on Android 1.6...Milestone never offered Android 1.6 and will never do. While the I?music brand "promised" for upgrade to 2.1 in Q3/Q4, by that time Milestone should be on Android 2.2 already.
- the ability to capture all the background noise so the person's own voice can hardly be heard by the other party. Milestone can never accoplish so with its Crystal Talk technology, which only captures the person's own voice minus the background noise.

I have Motorola Milestone for 8 months and i don't think i can change'it for something new like Samsung Galaxy S, the keyboard is awesome, the battery is great(2-3 days with wireless and sync on), the build quality, materials is very nice, and don't get me wrong, i have HTC Desire and some other smartphones but nothing is like my Moto.
I'm wainting the new Milestone to buy'it.

the screen is quite good, processor is the powerfull ever, camera is great and better than droid x , android 2.2 , flash 10.1, mobile 3G, dlna, blabla what else ?
