I Just used swype input method on my N97mini. Swping is little difficult so i used only full qwery. But is good.
I'm a symbian user, so I understand about the practicality of an os is far more important than the look of the inteface. windows phone 7 might not have the most eye candies in this playing field but referring to the information about win mo 7 so far, I believe that it will be a very practical and versatile os.
If I'm not wrong, you can't add any memory card to Windows Phone 7 devices (just like the iPhone) which for me is unacceptable. Yeah, Apple and Microsoft don't like to play it open.
I'm kind of excited for this OS. It almost identical to the same system that the Microsoft Zune HD uses. Which I really like, its a like a lot more than the iOS. I think this has a lot of promise because it really connects your phone to your computer in ways that no Blackberry, Driod, iPhone, has ever done before. With the full intergration of other Microsoft applicaitons like the one they display OneNote, really give it a deep level of productivity. It much cleaner looking then a lot of the other systems out there.
WEll, may be it will be wonderful OS, but on the screenshots it looks boring
Well personally I'm VERY sceptical...
The previous versions has been OS with added phone functionality.
Where calls and sms MIGHT work, but definitely did not work flawlessly.
What we need is the other way round a 100% stable phone, with added smart-phone-functionality! I doubt very much if Microsucks is capable of producing that...
I was SOOOO sick and tired of calls that couldn't be answered, sms never sent or sent more than once, spontaneous boots... actually I ended up giving my phone away to someone that needed a PDA more than a phone, and bought a device created as a phone... She is happy with her new pda...
So yes it is absolutely last chance for MS...
Finally some fresh blood. I've been waiting for it. The big boy is in the game;). I have a feeling this will be a good mobile OS. I am sick of all badas, webs, androids and symbians out there. The last one even isn't worth mentioning lol. That is why I've been holding to buy a smartphone after a few strong disappointments. Microsoft show these guys how to make business, they are lost!
I suspect its too late for windows mobile. The retailers and manufacturers are getting used to the idea of high selling android handset, and would be more willing to put their money behind them. Windows just has a really poor track record. Afterall windows has been around on phones for ages and android has been around for only 24months. One has a definit future the other has a dismal one.
Design is comparetively better than iphone4...................nice phone
Gamma Sharma, 02 Sep 2010A friend of mine has Vivaz, wonder if she will be able to install windows 7 on it and the driv... morethe vivaz?! no way!

it's an awful phone already
A friend of mine has Vivaz, wonder if she will be able to install windows 7 on it and the drivers for the 8MP HD camera. Heard Vivaz Pro is no its was to Windows 7 plateform.
Good to see it bug free. But no customizable UI? Thats typical Microsoft. But at least, unlike iApple, its not monopolizing the hardware to, although they have put up some mighty strict constraints regarding hardware configuration.
Anonymous, 02 Sep 2010what's rtm?RTM means Released To Manufacturer. So that means Microsoft are happy with it, its finalized and being sent to put on those compatable devices and get ready to be shipped out to customers.
Yes, It's a welcomed one by peoples. But that time it is must to better than other smart phones, than only it could be reach the consumers very quick likewise the Windows/Microsoft PC products. We hope better..
Yes! More competition for the smartphone world = More benefits for the consumer! Let the next round begin!
Now, if only WebOS had a larger presence...
