Pr, 04 Jul 2016Ios10 n android N working on new features here Windows tap to wake . Very outdated Windows wake up Microsoft has had the double tap to wake since 8.1, they just didn't put it on the 950/950XL.
Tee, 04 Jul 2016Double tap is all good a well until you realize that the phone unlocked itself in your pocket ... moreif the sensor is covered, double tapping to wake doesn't work. So if it's in your pocket it shouldn't turn on unless the sensor is sticking out the top.. lol
Random dude, 05 Jul 2016Reading all these comments on this article and many others made me realize that people impose ... moreYou are damn right imo because i dont care abt the os as long as i get what i want from a phone with ease.
Andy, 07 Jul 2016If you put a password on your lockscreen that cannot happen ! Doesn't that render double tap a waste of time? better left with unlock button, it will be less time consuming, assuming that 2x tap is a time efficient by design
Reading all these comments on this article and many others made me realize that people impose their standards to the rest, assuming their product is perfect for everyone. For example the question at hand here is this double tap feature:
-Yes, it could have easily been added from the start, but all was needed to bring this feature is assertive communication with the manufacturer. And let's be honest, how hard was your everyday life impacted by the lack of this feature. Did you loose money because of it, was your life at risk? I think not.
-Some people recommend not to buy MS products because of X, Y, Z reasons. And call them overpriced for no reason. Actually, there are phone that meet the needs of many and there are those who don't. For example, there are people that don't need some useless features like fingerprint sensor or double tap or whatever because these are irrelevant in everyday use for them. Whats wrong with wanting a phone to talk/text and occasional surfing + some photos?
From experience i can say that Lumias are tough as nails and most likely will last for more than 2 years. If you are spending 700 $ every year for a new phone that does the same thing as the previous one but 10% better some will say "you're doing in wrong".
So in conclusion, if you want something, ask for it :P and never forget that what you want isn't always what you need nor what you get, look for whats best for you.
I believe that if you are in the market for a simple phone works as it should for a long time and you don't want to replace it every year, Lumia phones might be the thing for you if you're not on a looooow budget.
No wonder this OS is surviving likE A Zombie ~
Dead from inside T.T
Double tap is all good a well until you realize that the phone unlocked itself in your pocket and opened a ton of application and made a random call to someone!!!

I am using Lumia 535 from dec 2015. The day after updating my mobile to Windows 10 I can see double tap to wake feature along with "Silence incoming calls when I place the phone face down on a surface" under Gestures..
Then why its not there with high end peace in Lumia i.e950

AnonD-444709, 03 Jul 2016Stupid, that Lumias by Nokia had Double Tap-to-Wake, only to disappear when Microsoft puts out... moreEven dumbphones asha's by Nokia has double tap to wake. Microsoft should not be holding its users on customizability. Made the users plea for any features is pathetic. Features should already be implemented just give a on/off toggle or available through apps download.
Oz, 03 Jul 2016Its not a ugly interface. IN FACT its the only operating system out there that was designed by... moreThe most wanted feature by everyone is the file system. It's missing in IOS answer windows. Even though they are good in many ways unfortunately still sucks...
Stupid, that Lumias by Nokia had Double Tap-to-Wake, only to disappear when Microsoft puts out their version. Glad it's back!
Every windows 8 phone had this feature previously. Windows store had an app called gestures, and installing that app had much more gestures in built. But sadly, M$, decided to ditch it in favor of a stable OS, windows 10(sarcastic).
Vhh , 03 Jul 2016I sold my lumia 950 bcuz no double tap to wakes..now buy it back
