Anonymous, 07 Sep 2010Those who think that this is going to be battery sucker, you will have to understand, core dua... moreOf course duel core doesn mean two cores. The phone would be a battery sucker for the mere fact that with more power, comes more capability. this means that developers and manufacturers will have all sorts of crap running in the background that will chew up battery. Most android phones have almost 20-30 processes running in the background at start up, this will only just increase with capabilities. I think the 15000mah battery has reached the point where it needs to be upgraded substantially. the latest round of android high end phones can barely last a day djust because their used alot more than ordinary phone for web, app, wifi, blootooth gps and camera functions. The fact that its relatively quick to access all these features means one is more likely to use their phone to browns the net than to turn on a laptop.

Anonymous, 07 Sep 2010Moto, LG, HTC are also coming with a dual core so it's not that huge.As of now only LG announced they will power up newest variation of Optimus series with NVidia tagra 2 no official word from others and even if they did,you must know that importing and manufacturing components are two different story,do you?!
HTC,MOTO and LG (and a decade from now Nokia)may "have" Dual Core models but again "Having" and "Producing" are to separate ways in businesses.

          ...Cheers from Germany.

Tarun, 07 Sep 2010Please correct your story. The Apple iPhone4 uses the Apple A4 processor and not the Hummingb... moreno 3gs used Cortex-A8 at 600mhz which is very similar to TI OMap3430
hummingbird is cortex-A8 also but specifically named for 1GHz product at 45nm
and Apple A4 (made by instrinsity, which apple bought last year) is hummingbird but rebadged to apple A4 as it was developed jointly by samsung-instrinsity

Those who think that this is going to be battery sucker, you will have to understand, core dual does not mean adding 2 processor into it. They are made possible by technology breakthrough, which usually coupled with new low power consumption of the chip, this is the same for this Samsung Orion processor

Please correct your story. The Apple iPhone4 uses the Apple A4 processor and not the Hummingbird as you have mentioned. The Hummingbird was used in the iPhone 3GS.

My galaxy is awesome but i do notice it heat up every now and then. and their only getting faster. On the other hand imagine the headache of adding a fan to the phone, one part to many that could easily break down. Ans a eat sink is no good in ones pocket.

Hope the battery can last for more than a day and the actual phone temperature be kept at a good minimum.. With that kind of processing power, you need to find a good way to have all that heat dispersed, else you could be holding something like a 50 degree macbook.

Anonymous, 07 Sep 2010i find it beeing more usefull for tablet PC than for phonesi agree....seems like overkill for smartphones at the moment. other components need to improve first before this processor finds itself in a decent phone. earliest would probably be Q4 2011 and thats already pushing it....then again this is just a guess XD
