AnonD-510098, 10 Jul 2016Huawei is better...No they aren't. Look at the huawei p9. 5.2", 3000mah, only 1080p, and only 75 hours. Decent, but Samsung phones do better than that.
its a shame that our beloved shiny phones cant make it trough one day of moderate usage. if physics is the limiting factor in building better batteries then common sense should be used in building better phones. and by better phones i mean better optimized software, and more down to earth hardware. if you cant live without your ultra thin, multi core cpu, 4K phone display then stop complaining about battery life. one week usage per charge is within our reach but not with those specs.
10 hours of SoT, with 6 hours of Bluetooth streaming would make me happy.
What is important is the battery need to last at least a day of really really really heavy use, as in 24 hours screen on time :D. Then its very good.

Another thing is battery life degradation. I have a built in battery, and after a year my phone lasts maybe 70% of its original time. That is a bummer, since it happened with all phones I had so far, and the original battery life was pretty much just alright.
Why can't they make smartphones with no display just so that it can have long lasting battery? ;-)
So, a 12+ hour screen on time under relative load is necessary for me, with option to stay alive for a few days with limited use of only whatsapp syncing. I wish I could just disable all I don't use and keep phone radio on with 1-2 messaging apps syncing once a minute or so.
I need pretty much an equivalent of a 7000mAh battery. Too bad there are not good phones with such, so I am really looking forward to battery tech evolving, since I don't really have much choices for that now, thus I have a good phone with a 2600mAh one and a 4000mAh power bank to survive what I need, which is very far from convenient. I though the Galaxy S6 had a comparatively good battery life (in general flagship batteries are just so much below par) but with Pokemon Go what you think of your phone's battery will change dramatically. A 2600mAh + 4000mAh power bank won't cut for ONE DAY without having to recharge both.
agree screen on time should at least have 8 hours + so that if we will used it for games most likely we have a battery to spare for the whole day. 5 - 5.2 inch screen FHD should be 3500 mah and qhd with 5.5 should be 4000 mah.
I want a smartphone that has the battery stamina of the Lumia 640XL. nothing less.
Romie Lee, 11 Jul 2016I changed my network connection from wifi to data and on my data it shown an ip indicator as y... moreNah, i still have my unlimited data plan, and am not planning to renew to get a "free" high-end smartphone. I like being able to get as much as 20GB in 24 hours via my Note 3. I have several extended batteries.
Jobs never intended iPhones to have LTE because it consumes battery so much more, and the fact iPhones have smaller capacity batteries for the thin factor. I still get 1 to 2MBPS at times, and on the average still have 40% left from my 10000mAh battery. I don't have to carry around a Hotspot device and pay 2 bills.
divis200, 10 Jul 2016Look at xiaomi mi max. It has 108h endurance rating. Much better.it also has 2 times the battery size , so that is not optimisation , thats just throwing a bigger battery at the phone. based on the endurance rating of the s7 , if their optimisation was better , wouldnt the max have an endurance rating of a hair under 200 hours? optimization and endurance rating are not the same thing. if a samsung has a 2000Mah battery with a end rating of 50 hours, and a other brand has a 3000mah battery with an endurance rating of 60 hours , why do some people say the other brand is more optimized? the 3000 mah battery is 33% larger but only provides 16% more endurance rating. so the more optimized battery would be the samsung in that point.
Anonymous, 11 Jul 201690h for Note 4. S7 edge (S820) is 87hS7 Edge Exynos is 98H. That's what my wife has, and its 3600mAh battery will never be enough how I use my mobile Internet.
TheNoteMan, 11 Jul 2016Oh, we are in the same region. Note.5 comes only in 32gb - never an option for me since I'm us... moreI changed my network connection from wifi to data and on my data it shown an ip indicator as yours maybe because, we are using same type of network? And my wifi is from different operator that's why? I have two options here, Wifi or data, I pay both montly bills, Unlimited for wifi with 384kbps speed that is so damn slow! that's why sometimes I change to data with limited data caps all over... I also notice that you will save a lot of battery power when using wifi than data, mostly if you have anabled LTE on packet data, battery drains in both of my devices a lot and I notice also a bit heat even on my iPhone 5S.
#My English sucks sorry...
