AnonD-442781, 10 Jul 2016The galaxy s5 got 83 hours.Oppss, sorry. Was referring to their early test, endurance rating.
AnonD-481725, 10 Jul 2016Two days for what people?? You don't want to charge it at night either? Or you want to use it ... moreThe ideal smartphone is the one that does not need to be recharged.. So.. More time between charge is more preferable.. Especially for people who go out a lot.. You also need to go out for some instead of staying at home with your smartphone
divis200, 10 Jul 2016"Two days is ideal" No phone currently can last that much. With Nokia Lumia 735 WP8.1 I got 3 days without charging, but with windows 10 mobile it's like 1, 1.5 days.
I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 running CM13 right now. I get 12 SOT with at least 48 hours off the charger.
Two days for what people?? You don't want to charge it at night either? Or you want to use it for 2 consecutive days??? (-_-)
AnonD-469228, 10 Jul 2016Y not? The standard of 3-5 hrs is not gd enough. Personally 8+ hrs will be the jackpotWell yeah, but right now sth like that is hard to achieve, not because OEMs can't but because they don't "want" to, according to them the slimmer the better.

The Galaxy S7 last longer than the Galaxy S5 despite the higher resolution and bigger RAM. Heck, even the S6 last a tad longer than the S5 despite having smaller battery (73hours for the S6 and 72hours for the S5).This goes to Apple too as the iPhone 6 last longer than the iPhone 5 despite it having bigger display. These two companies are the best for battery efficiency.
Samsung makes best times even with higher specs(like resolution). Even with s820 got S7e 87h,(compare G5's 60h, sony's Xp 61h) but then there is exynos that up that to 98h. Samsung mainly wins using own less-energy-draining components like memory, chip, then bringing bigger battery, and screen thats more visible on sun - needs less brightness-power. You could say that as long as it last so long like samsung, its enough. Words like 2days of battery are today meaningless, as sony destroyed them.

Not just that it looked cool, it had great usage (check time, playing music, notifications, incoming call, all from that one screen, before opening it up, simple tasks get dealt with the 2~3 external keys)
AnonD-416078, 10 Jul 2016You want a 12h on-screen time phone? Y not? The standard of 3-5 hrs is not gd enough. Personally 8+ hrs will be the jackpot
well you guys pushed it a "tad" too far with "I'm sticking with my featurephone [...]".
Truth to be told tho, smartphones are nowadays boring as hell... Come on, phones can be more than just a slab with screen on front and deal with it, get a bumper case to make it look not as boring as a paper weight.
Really glad to see only 2% of "I don't mind charging TWICE A DAY for a sleek phone".
"Nowadays we expect almost as much out of our smartphone as a PC and sometimes even more" I totally agree to this.
That is the problem of today society. We expect too much from a tinsy device. People want ridiculous amount of RAM, 256 GB storage, big fat battery, in their smartphone. I think we had come to a point where flagships smartphone just relies on gimmicks alone for them to sell (for example: 3D touch, Edge panel, secondary display). A $300 smartphone can do almost everything that a $600 smartphone can. The line between flagship and mid-range are becoming more thin year after year....

It's gaming that ru... moreAll phones can survive even a week if you don't do anything on them and why does it always have to be gaming that uses all battery. I want a phone which can handle all tasks with at least 12 hours screen on time, which is rare, especially among flagships.
