It is quiet possible .in my class of 70 students 12 of them r using redmi phones.out of them 4 r redmi note 3 which imo is a great phone with best battery life.it makes me jealous even with my good old s5:-(
Xiaomi only focus in China and India market and my country get Redmi Note 3 with 2/16 GB and NO 4G LTE. Zenfone series will bash Redmi and Mi series here.

So, while its still a problem, I believe the figures are true.
And there are many countries where Xiaomi is official.
Plus, please note these are figures for "Redmi phones" which include not one but many phones,
Redmi 2 Prime,
Redmi Note 2,
Redmi Note 3,
And so, these are apparently correct figures.
