The shade of white of the earpods(seems old) does not match the shade white of the connector.. I believe this is a fake

I strongly believe its fake. Because even if they go for LP headphones, they will not make the LS port jack that big.

I had owned most iphones up until the 5. I am not an apple hater I had to change platforms due to software applications I needed for business purposes. That being said Apple just signed their death warrant. There is no "post 3.5mm world" I hate to inform the author of this but the high end audio world is not all the concerned with Apple or Beats interpretation of an audio connection. Audiophile grade headphone makers are highly unlikely to use a connection that is not attached to an amplified analog signal for a variety of performance and durability reasons. Beats headphones while definitely a market success are not very good quality of construction or performance for the money. If companies like Sennheiser or Audio Technica or even Shure released headsets with this connector I would be shocked. Those are the companies though that sets trend for the rest of the Audio world. Beats makes what would be a great 80-100 dollar circumaral for 299 and all that money is marketing costs. While I am sure the iPhone 7 will be a market success it will likely miss sales expectations in part to the increasing global smartphone saturation as they did with the 6s but also due to alienating and an important and typically affluent segment of their customer base. It is likely this was at least part of the longterm strategy that led to the launch of iTunes for Android. Unless the high end audio world adopts this connector then Apple may have just made a headache we wont see walked back until likely the 8.

look like apple's earbud's 3.5mm jack has been cut and inserted in 3rd party lightning cable housing. look at the color of the lightning pin housing and the color of earbud .it is different.

That's not Apple product. Looks at the lighting connector. The plastic piece with the metal connector is not aligned with the white housing. Do you know a single Apple product that has fit & finish issue?
