Wow Apple really thinks about artists! /S This hasn't nothing to do with their love for artists, it's just their way to destroy competition, and users who use free ad supported service. The most evil company out there! PERIOD! I hope this company goes down as fast as possible! They are putting any kind of innovation down!

AnonD-135230, 17 Jul 2016So you're a selfish prick? Gotcha.Hey leave him at that, he was raised that way. Probably his parents have been doing the same thing in front of him since he was a kid so obviously he thinks it is his right to do so.
Theoretically if artists are getting more money than this proposal is worth considering. But there are always other factors involved.

AnonD-135230, 16 Jul 2016So you're enjoyed the hard work of others for free. What a great guy you are.Saved me a huge amount of money whatever way you look at it
It's pretty simple. If Apple goes this way, they will only force more peoples to pirate musics by downloading them from the web over paying for them.
As it's now, you are still making the artists some money with the free account on Spotify. That's better than making nothing by making more and more peoples go the wrong way by downloading musics in an illegal way.
The fact that Apple thinks they just can force something like this down peoples throat is something that will backfire back to them if they aren't carefull.

If successfull, the Pirate downloading could have been the best thing that could happen to the music industry.
If you look at the music record history, you will see that the amount of officially released albums has exploded. And Prices has been on the rise. That was not a sustainable business model. People didnÂ’t have enough money to buy enough records for the money to keep bringing the same amount of money. And increasing the price to make up for loss in sales doesnÂ’t work when the amount of records also increase.
There was no chance that it could continue like it did.
People also got less and less interested in buying music, in favor of buying other products. So the interest in buying records was actually decreasing.
The industry was actually killing itself even if there would have been no piracy.
But thanks to piracy, they managed to get money from lawsuits and threats, and keep it up.
And now they are going after ad supported services by playing the piracy card again, so that we should feel sorry for record companies, and accept their terms if they were suffering.
Well though some change IS needed, the 'per song' approach has severe issues build in as well.
One 1h album may consist of 30x2min short songs. Another of one single consecutive whole sound body. It is really hard to make a fair model on this.
The -at first- obvious idea of going 'per minute' has issues as well, as this could tempt some artists to include a lot of repetitions (say the chorus) in each song, or extremely long 'extros' on each track...

However, if someone was to find a way to take my product for free without me knowing about it, then there would be nothing I could do. Thats life unfortunately. I haven't paid for any music since maybe 2001/2002. I also refuse to use spotify or anything like that because of the ads

My input to the U.S. CRB is : make all freemium platforms and services free, i.e. Remove all ads and whatnot, these "artists" are actually multi-billion dollar record companies,,, a very overpaid business and they don't need to take a chunk of every single end user, they make more money than they deserve selling digital and physical copies and they should be the ones paying major players like Spotify, YT or Apple to make their products reach a wider audience.
galaxyS7, 16 Jul 2016I am still old school... Download it from torrents, YouTube, Internet and from friends..... ... moreAmen brother. I do the same, then use some tagging software to add album art, etc and to group them together nicely. I still use soulseek for downloads.
AnonD-135230, 16 Jul 2016And didn't this say more money to the artists, so isn't that a good thing? From that whole article you just get that ?. If you don't get it then read again three times more until you understand what this is about. This is huge attack on normal users than other companies. I hope court will foresee what Apple trying to do.
