A phone is no longer just a phone that works technically brilliantly. We are sold experiences. It doesn't matter if your experience lacks something - its the whole that matters. Nokia have failed here. iPhones are terrible at certain tasks, so are Blackberries but their products have experiences that trump Nokia. Nokia have not understood this. I love(d) Nokia and a few years ago, would only suggest a Nokia to anyone that wanted a phone. The world has changed and Nokia have missed the boat. Their technology is brilliant but these have had no effect on the experience which is completely lacking. There will come a time when nostalgia will be lost and hopefully by then, the Nokia Experience will be like what it was a few years ago...

I'm sorry, but who appointed GSM Arena the tech journalism watchdog??? Surely they should just post their own review. These sites have formed their own opinions of the product, GSM Arena is free to do the same. Different reviewers focus on different things, a lot of reviews on mobile-review.com for example say the exact opposite of what a review on GSM Arena will say when its the same product. Different strokes for different folks.

Anonymous, 04 Oct 2010Well i stopped to read mobile-review from months, because that lack of detachment, for engadge... moreiph don't do others do at the launch. Ipod still has no fm radio and it is best selling mp3. Apple afraid they will be called followers.

I WONDER HOW MUCH SOMEONE(i personally think apple) PAID FOR THOSE GUYS TO LIE & ... The truth : Android is taking iOS over. i I think WP7 will become amazing OS in terms of usability & simplicity. We all know that Symbian hasnt done great job for about 2 years... BUT COME ON! you can notice easily those pics and REVIEWS ARE FAKE! And i think N8 is far better than they make it look. So on this one, i REALLY hope this guy behind this is sued and f.u.c.k.e.d UP... never before i had believed in patent wars and all those lawsuits but now im starting to believe that some companies/moneyhungry peoples just are WRONG.

Well i stopped to read mobile-review from months, because that lack of detachment, for engadget and gizmodo i have always knew that they are apple lovers, and definitely not liking nokia at all, about the dude with the questions for nokia, can he tell me, how long does it take to make video call on iphone(and only through wi-fi, and only with another iphone) how long does it take to put one simple flashlight, how long does it take to put front camera, how long does it take to make iphone, to run more than one application at once, well the list with "how long does it take" for iphone to do something that the others smartphones can do from years is very long.

Also, do try to use GPS, sports tracker and listen to music at the same time on your iph4. I dare you.

The N8 costs about 450 here, an iPhone starts at 699 something. SO in effect the N8 compromises in price for the lesser components as you put it thus making the price right inline with the likes of HTC and Iph.

GSMArena, you are far better than Engadget Mobile. Engadget Mobile is SO Pro-iPhone to the point that it sickens me.

                                  Neutrality for the win.

Nokia N8 is ok for a average use but as far as I have seen , it looses vs Android and iOS.
