People are giving too much value to some details, without thinking if they really makes such a big difference...

I won´t be surprised to read a comment saying "WOOOW, IT DOESN'T HAVE INFRARED PORT!! WORST PHONE EVER!!"

      Understand what I mean?

[deleted post]Indeed, you should have seen all the american bloggers go wild when the G2 had only 800mhz. But it's the truth, the numbers don't count. The G2 is pretty zippy too (It's called the Desire Z here).

the people who have trust on Gizmodo can easily see that the n8 user is not a pro like others so we'd prefer you testing it on fair grounds .About comparing , when we talk about fast & all a few seconds is ok when you have good reception & best of multimedia in one device . because its very irritating when you cant use a phone what its meant for i:e calling

excellent point of the gsmarena. I'm not such a fan of Nokia's but i'm sure the N8 will outperform any cameraphone out there. That's just a fact. How the Symbian3 will perform we shall see:)

agreed with gsmarena. N8 should be given fair un-biased reviews. Just like any other phone. And i personally think n8 will be give much needed start for this year for symbian and nokia.

Camera capabilities aside, from most of the reviews i've read on the retail N8 seems to indicate slow unresponsiveness at times and that Symbian^3 is still far from being stable. Maybe for those who want only the camera functions its a great buy.

See, all phones (3 years ago) have slower and cheaper tec... moreN8 is actually the most useful mobile phone I've seen. For me it is enough to make htpc unnecessary ith it's dlna & HD support. It's enough to make my current pocket digicam obsolete. It's enough to make my car navigator obsolete without any extra costs.

Furthermore, there seems to be nothing it can't accomplish that some other phone can do. if UI speed is not exactly the same or better than couple of competitors it still sure as h*ll does it's job well enough in that department too.

I've read engadget review and could not believe what they did with camera review... it's total nonsense. I've also read review at phone arena and half of review they criticize simbian and not the functions which would be ok but the way it's organized, when reading it I just have a feeling they don't want it (N8) to be success no matter what and I am sick of it. Nice to see that someone else noticed as I did.

[deleted post]You're probably on Qt 4.6.2 (or 3). Qt 4.7 is out, it supports script-based language for building over top the API and a drag-and-drop environment as well. I'm not a developer so I wouldn't know how easy Qt 4.7 might be, just describing the new update.

If you had actually researched anything, Symbian is the most resourceful of the OSes straight out of the box. UI is what lags behind.

Also, "SYMBIAN NEEDS MORE POWER" is factually about as untrue as Florida being above arctic circle.
