My N85 already has Skype which can make voice calls over wifi AND 3G in China.

My N900 already has native Skype built-in and can make voice AND video calls over wifi AND 3G in China! I know I know it's not a smartphone but a tablet!

Who cares about apple ios, it's lock down. Open os is the way to go! I like having options , ie if you want flash, you have an option to install it, apple is a no go says one guy (jobs) kinda like a dictatorship

Now it's just about not letting your carrier find out, cuz no one is actually going to use it on WiFi only and afaik (almost) all carriers have it written in their FUP that voip (e.g. Skype) is not allowed.

The greatest news I found today...I feel lucky not being in USA anymore, Verizon Wireless ruins Skype's usability.

The only reason apple is successful is because of a hype. they trash talk other OS's and products and just say there's is better. apple has its perks but for the average user, its not needed. Plus apple isn't better for everything. You wanna play games? sure it has gotten better, but will not beat my gaming computer I built for half the price of the iMacs.

It has "issues" on Galaxy S and will only work on Eclair and up. THIS is why iPhone is simply better, and I'm not saying this as an iPhone owner. I actually use a Samsung Galaxy Spica, and I'm sick of it. Its not stable. Apps are not tested properly, they mess up the software and now my fone can take up to fifteen seconds just to open messages. I'm really NOT impressed. The apple formula, where the hardware maker also makes the OS is the best model for reliability. Its the reason why Macs are KNOW to be more reliable and stable than PCs. Its the whole PC vs MAC thing playing itself out all over again, but this time on smartfones. YES apple ask for more control, but that control also helps towards more stable devices. I'm having serious doubts about continuing with Android, perhaps iPhone is the way forward.

Anonymous, 05 Oct 2010dont get why youd use this as opposed to your standard calls???fring and skype best when used as a voip for cheaper distance calling from country to another

and you can use it to communicate with friends who has the same app for free

very bad sound quality. Uninstalled. Hopefully developers will listen to feedback and fix it.
