dont get why youd use this as opposed to your standard calls???
Now all I need is an Eclair upgrade for my x10. Come on Sony!
Good grief Charlie Brown, I had video calling at least 5 years ago over 3G on my Nokia which was running Symbian S40 back then.
b, 05 Oct 2010Everyone knows how Apple made video calling possible, with the iphone 4.
FACETIME! bahahhah... moreThis is a serious reply to a stupid comment.
Fring for iPhone
With the newest fring on your iPhone, you can enjoy FREE video calls, calls, live chat and experiences with friends on fring and other online communities all through one central profile. fring is completely free to download and free to use.
Now, fring gives you
2 way video calls to all your friends on any mobile phone including Android phones, Nokia (S60) and other iPhones wherever you are (3G & Wifi) - Note: performance over 3G is subject to mobile operators' 3G coverage & quality.
multitasking so you can be always on and available with fring running in the background and alerting you to new chat or calls without proactively opening fring (just like on all other supported phones).
new Social Stream: a chronological stream of all tweets, facebook updates, chats and calls, all in one place! Easy cross-community communication and simple sorting capabilities.
High resolution graphics: for iPhone 4’s retina display. Wow!
a smarter address book: simply manages your buddy list, merges contacts and more.

Try telling that to any of the iCrap users, they still think Apple invented videocalling :D
Anyway, well done Android :D
Oh, and there is a quit option - go to your info within the app and sign out, the app closes.
Works perfectly on my Galaxy S - running Froyo (Android OS 2.2) with the JPK firmware... Which is awesome, all GS owners should really get onto it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21aVbYpgrRA

Good news ..
But how about Skype for the Samsung BADA ???
One of the best cell phones out there (Wave) does not yet have Skypes app...
i still prefer using skype on Nimbuzz, the skype app is too big (8mb) and still has no video-call functionality, so not a big advantage at the moment to have a separate skype app

Great for calls. Voice call works flawlessly.
Though it has some really annoying things.
Tested on HTC Desire, Froyo.
It can run in background.
You get notifications about incoming messages in notification area.
But there is no sound or vibration on new message if skype is in the
background.
It has no Quit option.
It eats lots of battery.~600 mAh on HTC Desire after few minnutes of running (mabe later power usage drops, didn't test it, be I seriously doubt it).
Even if auto-logon is activated, it displays login screen for e few seconds on start.
It's not supposed to run on Wildfire. The supported screen resolutions are 320x480, 800x480 or 850x480.
I just download Skype on my HTC Desire, is perfect
i cant find it on my htc wildfire
