AnonD-425519, 17 Aug 2016Not sure what you mean by 5400. The D5500 that has been out since 2015. Incredible compact cam... moreYes they have the 5500. I think the logical successor to the 5300 is the 5400 and probably 5600 to the 5500. Gosh, I miss nikon removed the ultrasonic sensor cleaning part. Bad bad bad.
So, they took out 2 very useful features and gave us bluetooth instead?
always loving my k-50
have yet to try a recent nikon dslr, they seem good though so i might pick this up
AnonD-425519, 17 Aug 2016The Nikon is the easiest to use and has the best image quality though, especially in low light.Only if it can focus accurately ;p

AnonD-150040, 17 Aug 2016Hard to complain but still no external audio output. Cmon nikon. I hope the 5400 will have a b... moreNot sure what you mean by 5400. The D5500 that has been out since 2015. Incredible compact camera. I had it for a while.
Anyways, this D3400, not sure why they released it. No touchscreen? At least add that to make it a useful upgrade. Canon offers touchscreens in almost all of their cameras.
No more ultrasonic sensor cleaning? lol.... sad move from Nikon. Forcing people to buy the more expensive D5500 or moving away from Nikon.
I had the D3300, great camera, but it had its front focusing issue, just like nearly all Nikon D3xxx and D5xxx cameras. Excellent battery life though. The D3400 has even more battery life.
Regardless, useless update to a great beginner's camera.
