armv6 processor seems dated, it results in longer loading time, though it has fairly high fps in games

Ibrahim Ramzat, 15 Oct 2010WTF is this!!! this exactly like the 5800 XM !!!!!!!! Although Nokia is producing great phone... moreNot so similar to 5800. Completely different design. Much thinner, slightly smaller, 600 mHz processor v 434 mHz processor in 5800. Greater battery life etc. This should have been released October last year instead of 5530 but hey, never to late.

In the year 2020 Nokia will again put the umpteen slightly modified version of 5800 and nokia fans will gladly say that nokia produces costly mobiles for the mass and is not directed to the high end market, and till now (2020) nokia has not produced any device that can compete in the high end market though it's devices cost similar to the phones in the high end market.

Seriously who would buy this? It's just 5800 with a facelift. he camera is still gonna suck as usual. If it ran symbian 3 and had hd video capture, this would be interesting. But meh, symbian 1 is over, I'm replacing my 5530 within weeks, even though I still love it to bits. Vibrant now

All those people out there, be it high end or low end phone.....main purpose is can use for calling and messaging people. It's just a tool someone invented a long long time ago for communication purpose. Free will people, if you think it's good, suit you, go ahead buy it. The power is in you, don't care what people say. Nobody in the world can satisfy everyone. Dot matrix, non-colour phone people are still using, they can still communicate with others.

brynn, 14 Oct 2010It takes 18 months from start to finish building a mobile so most of these fones have already ... moreFor a "brand new" device like when it first released 5800 (some 5 years AFTER Motorola released its first Symbian 3G touchscreen phone), did it really take the almighty brand 18 months to develop the "sister" phones like 5230/5530?

This company loves to release a high end device, then take out this (i.e. one without 3G but with wifi, one with 3G but no wifi, and eventually one without both 3G and wifi!?) that and make dozens of so called variations, instead of lower the price of the initial product.

The purpose of such marketing strategy is to "bomb" the media and shops with "so called" new models all the time. In the end most of these phones weren't sold out when the new models are released, then the old models would go to landfills in order to sustain the prices of the new phones.

Someone called the almighty brand being the greenest, but I simply don't see how....

Another pointless release by Nokia. Please, just stick to the low-end market that you made millions out of. Only the N9 looks decent and only because of Meego which will lack the stability and polish once released. Nokia is now releasing a bunch of crappy phones w/ resistive screens and outdated software for the budget conscious.

I think it's great that the majority of people here really think that they always need a 1GB Snapdragon processor, 8GB internal memory etc... start thinking, it's a low/midprice touchscreen phone which is doing it's job. if you really believe that apple, se, samsung are better then.... well go on and believe what their marketing departments are trying you to understand. that you have a need you didn't know you had.

i think it's a nice standard phone with a reliable os. if you want cheap android.. fair enough go fore the rubbish wildfire or sony ericsson woth android 1.6, if that is progress then i don't know. and apple.., well they are busy ripping you off with a one modell phone which and don't leave you a choice whether or not you want a low spec or a fully fleshed smartphone.

nokia will survive since they're is more substance than with apple which is some kind of fashion and will die soon once consumers realise what an arrogant company that is
