so they offer first and second generation zenfones at reasonable bang for buck prices.
now they want to cash in on their established brand.

better to buy samsung note series or galaxy series instead of zenfone.
the international pricing for zenfone seems to be the most sensible out there.

ThuckingFypo, 17 Aug 2016then they are selling us indians c*ap.they should seriously reconsider their pricing.absolutely man they are trying to sell us the ASUS logo.
asus is a big brand in terms of motherboards, soundcards, routers and is highly reputed. but in smartphone market they still don't have that stronghold.
suppose i consider asus' pricing but is there that awesome after sales present to justify that pricing. they outsource after sales to 3rd party companies.
earlier we couldn't disable those zen-thisthat bloatware that they put.
the design language of the ui is not professional. their own stock icons don't go hand in hand with modern icons of other apps available on google playstore.
they are lethargic in updating their devices
they don't have huge support from developer community like xiaomi, one plus, samsung flagships get. xda doesn't have enough development on zenfones.
their resale value is extremely lower than xiaomi devices and i know this because my brother had zenfone 5 and it was a pain getting rid of that device.
they have simply axed the branch of the tree on which they are sitting by the pricing strategy.

Not to mention that asus 3s are really fragile. Watch the drop test on you tube.
Where as le2 is quite sturdy. Chinese mobiles have improved quite a bit in quality.
Prejudice has to give way to acceptance.

I was waiting for the launch to know pricing and expected deluxe version to be with in 30k. I guess Asus will lose the market in India this year.

bro, the dissapointment is all about price, not about specs. Similar spec phones cost lower than what asus is offering and with few bucks extra you can jump upto 820(flagship) category lemax2,mi5,op3.
still let me break down the 625/650/652 confusion
625 deploys 14nm process compared to 28nm process. technical term is die shrinking. die shrinking reduces current used by each transistor switching on/off. so battery life is improved, production cost is down and cpu clock rate can be slightly increased(2ghz on 625 compared to 1.8 on 650/652, not much difference). zenfone 3 already gives up on this die shrinking advantage by using only 2600mAh battery. So, all advantage nullified right here.
Now 625 uses single channel ddr3 ram compared to 650/652 dual channel ddr3 so, theoretically both channels are accessed simultaneously thus improving performance in 652/650.
Next, 625 has 8 cortex a-53 cores compared to 652's 4 cortex a72 and 4- a53 cores. so better performance for 652.
Lastly adreno 510 on 652/650 is better than adreno 506 on 625.

shouting 14nm 14nm 14nm all the way won't make this device bang for buck.
you wanna buy kid buy one, why try to convince everyone that an overpriced device is a good buy.

Those who are comparing Asus zenfone 3 with LeEco 2 or redmi note 3, let me remind you what advantages Asus has :
1. Asus has sd625 SoC which is a 14nm chip unlike sd652 of leeco2.
2. Asus has oleophobic coating.
3. Optical image stabilization
4. Laser autofocus.
6. Better screen to body ratio.
7. Better secondary camera
8. Ligher than leeco2
9. Microsd card slot upto 2TB.

Now many people say that leeco 2 has bigger battery. But you should not forget that sd625 is a 14nm chip. Thus its battery optimization is much better than any sd652 soc.

Asus zenfone 3 may be on a bit higher side. But it is a complete package.

19K for laser which has SD430,
22K & 28K for zenfone 3 with only 32GB ROM, SD625, No Quick Charge,
50K &63K for deluxe variants;
Asus has lost it, i anticipate huge price cuts within a couple of months.

Confused. Not sure whether to laugh on Asus or their customer (including myself - owner of two zenfone 5 and zenfone 2 laser). They cant support old customer with bug free OS. GPS does not work. Etc etc. And they are launching next series of ZENFONE. better if they could focus on supporting old customer first.
