The software support will be handled by either Nokia Technologies or Foxconn ..
Nokia Technologies created the Android Nokia Z launcher .. But the support for Nokia N1 tablet was handled by Foxconn .. Nokia N1 tablet received many updates and was upgraded to Android 5.1.1 from 5.0 as well ..
But that may be simply because N1 tablet was just a test model , and everything including sales was handled by Foxconn.. i expect that the updates will most likely be handled by Nokia technologies in future , once they start integrating more of their technologies like pureview/ozo camera etc.. and bring more apps like Z launcher..
Nokia has always been excellent with updates , so expect the same ..
when giant of mobile phones appear, the world would be in total silence to listen to what they got in stock! they hav come to rebrand android devices.
Nokia, 18 Aug 2016READ THIS before saying it's just chinnese phone with a Nokia name... TL dr - It is a very ... moreYour "excellent" strategy has a gaping hole: smartphones require continued support in the form of software development/upgrades, you can't just outsource the product support to someone else -- more likely than not, they won't have the know-how or man-power to carry that task.
actually i kind pessimists about this, why? because
1)their original smartphone team at microsoft
2)they no longer manufactured them self like old day
3)will they have marketing power like mid 00?
Nokia is the best, i have a lot of time without smartphone and now you can be sure that ill buy a nokia smartphone. Nokia is the Rolls-Royce of the mobile devices
Who all ar commenting negative they know the brand is
Well known they like the brand but they just kidding
How originally a Nokia is it? Rebranding is just going to suck. bring em back the hay-days.....
Anonymous, 19 Aug 2016Nokia good for dumb phone era, not smart...samsung rool this area. Not if Nokia produces good quality spec smartphones and sell them for competitive pricing. The brand 'Nokia' already is well known by lots of people that can help in selling their handsets. And die hard fans like me will buy their smartphones as soon as possible. ;p
Nokia is the worst manufacturer in the mobile market since 2008-2009. Everything they did since that time was crap. Their newer generation flagships were much worse than the previous ones (for example N82 vs N96), they didn't create any N-Gage games that utilized the 3D accelerator (GPU), moreover, after N82 their newer flagship phones didn't even have 3D accelerator at all for a long time (N86, N96, N97). While the Nokia flagship phones had 300-400mhz CPU, 128MB RAM and video recording capability only at 640x480 resolution at around 2009, the competition had phones with 600-1000mhz CPU with GPU, 256MB or more RAM and HD video recording capability. So Nokia was far behind the competition and never was able to catch up to the competition anymore. This is why people started to hate and leave Nokia.
Nokia was struggling by it's own idiotism. It's nothing to do with the deal with Microsoft. Nokia was already dying way before the deal.
And Nokia is one of the first manufacturers who took away the removable battery.
Nokia should never come back to the mobile market.
Welcome welcome why u late we are waiting...your great presents
As the story in a movie, when the king fell and sunk by the enemy. Then he returned to practice in order to become stronger, and when he came back and beat the enemy and then he came back again to the king and his kingdom topped even the world. Whether Nokia will again rule the world? We'll see.
Still hoping Nokia to bounce back big time...Nokia as brand is still very popular in so many countries. So definitely if they launch one good phone with budget price like one plus one, I believe it will be a huge hit. All the best Nokia Team.
Anonymous, 19 Aug 2016no no, don't get me wrong but, the former Microsoft employees I was referring to were the ones... moreOhh ok.. , i misinterpreted it ...
Let's hope Nokia delivers us solid android phones at competitive prices and shake up the market
Take care :)
