Well, they asked if GG5 was at least as strong as GG4 and they said "Yes it is". Even so, these abrasions are sure to turn some heads, especially for future phones.
so better shock resistance and worse scratch resistance,
your pick guys.
You may assume that the quality of the glass is better and that Samsung has tested it extensively.
On my Note 4 there is one small scratch that you almost do not see. I therefore assume that on the Note 7 no user scratches will be visable.
I also think all these tests are a little too excessive and not really realistic. I do not use a screen protection or a cover. I'm cautious and careful with my phone. If you do, there is usually nothing to worry about.
There is always shame in the creation of an object for the public gaze.
so want do people actually want? a shatter-resistant or a scratch-resistant screen?
Two test :
1.Jerry rig everything.
2. Phonebuff drop test.
In 1 st test it scratch at a level of 3 in mohr hardness.
In 2 nd it shattered on the first drop from one meter.
Conclusion : gg5 is cheap useless advertising product .
It's time Samsung get their own glass instead of buying from Corning Gorilla Glass.
I don't care about the scratches when I am too busy watching VR adult entertainment with the Gear VR. ;)
I have never been protected from accumulating scratches over time on my smartphones by the Corning Gorilla Glass, whereas I am always protected from scratches on my hard worn watches by sapphire.
Jerryrig did the same test with all devices who had GG4 and all of them didn't scratch till level 6. That means that your glass is s**t Corning and Jerryrig didn't do anything wrong and unprofessionaly, he just tested the glass and found out that it sucks in scratching more than a GG2 even.
Romie Lee, 20 Aug 2016Samsung must do about this and pull-out the note7 and change the body covers from glass to alu... moreYou want aluminum? Get a Galaxy C5, C7 or C9. Samsung already did that. Got anything else to say?
Samsung must do about this and pull-out the note7 and change the body covers from glass to aluminum unibody quickly before this news could damage their reputation. And Samsung must sue corning for damage... This must be a billions worth of lawsuit!
Let's see in other test, maybe the note 5 changed the CG5 a bit.
