Anonymous, 21 Aug 2016what kind of bugs?Software bugs like my note 3 running stock android 5.0 but not 5.1
sure Corning will despite all the scratch tests from Jerry, but Jerry just do it right...we need to know what to expect from a coin in you pocket, a key or even a knife not only the drop test will say the screen is resistent or not!
Corning are doing c r a p right now with that GG5 and Note7 drink theyr poison, and i preciate that, maybe people will now use the brain to buy a DECENT phone and not the c r a p p y N7.
my old c7 Nokia from 2011 doesn't work anymore, found it after 2 years stuck between 2 metal frames of my old car seat..display is practically scratch free, you guess - it's GG1
Corning are liars...Of course they are going to defend their products, Qualcomm did the same too, lying about the 810 SOC when it was revealed that was overheating and throttling.
Why do they even had to comment when they know GG5 is not that scratch resistant. They should let people know from their own mouth so that people will still have faith in them and WILL USE SCREEN PROTECTOR BEFORE SCRATCHING THEIR NEW NOTE 7.
And last but not least. About 5 years ago I was an owner of Samsung S8500. This phone had GG 1 on screen. I can swear that after 1.5 years glass was like brand new with no even micro scratches. My current Note 5 has GG4 and screen is covered with tons of micro scratches. They are clearly visible under certain angle. Neither Samsung nor Corning could explain why 1st generation 5 years old product was truly scratch resistant but one company produces today is just a marketing flop....
Anonymous, 21 Aug 2016Curve glass = bad news to buy screen protector. After apply looks shitty, and looks like u ... moreThat's because you couldn't put it on properly. If you can't put it on you're better off going to a store and getting someone else to put it on.
user, 21 Aug 2016lies, lies, lies.......why get defensive when you could instead admit your mistakes, apologise... moreThere will be more scratch tests by YouTubers to prove GG5 indeed vulnerable to scratch.
Corning, please provide hardness measurement for GG4 and GG5 to convince us there is no issue in GG5!
Two main reasons why I want Note7 over any other phone -
64gb internal storage.. The American version of the S7 edge only has 32gb. I like downloading from torrent sites using Flud or uTorrent. Some entire TV series on Pirate Bay is as high as 30+gb. I refuse to get a Xiaomi Mi 5, OnePlus 3, and iPhone 7 lacks a micro-sd slot. That's a huge red flag.
Gear VR. This applies to several Samsung phones too but Gear VR is the cheapest to experience VR smut! ;) LG 360 VR cost double and is rated poorly. Oculus Rift, PlayStation VR, and HTC Vive are all costly and require wires being attached. The Gear VR is something I plan using with all the movies and TV shows I downloaded from torrent sites.
Add in the best display, great camera, design, and battery life.
The only advantages S7 edge has over Note7 -
+ Slightly smaller
+ More scratch-resistance from GG4
+ Slightly better battery life but S7 edge lacks the feature to lower the resolution
The fairly average speaker loudness is a push for both. S7 edge also lacks the S-Pen and all the valuable features it can offer. It lacks Type-C which is the future standard. I don't care about the iris scanner but it is there for extra security. The deciding factor between both goes back to the first reason. 64gb v 32gb internal. And also the S-Pen where I can write reminders to myself on the lockscreen like a Post-It or can easily make gifs. For a little extra, get the best of the best!
Corning should give note 7 owners with free tempered glass made of GG4.
When previous GG went scratchless on levels 3 & 4, corning was so high and mighty. Yet now, they are very defensive. Lies alright!
I like how people are defending GG. I'm glad JRE has the guts to do stuff like this in the name of consumer interest yet you m0r0ns don't see it. Companies can't be putting in crap products and expect the consumer to pay $800 for it.
lies, lies, lies.......why get defensive when you could instead admit your mistakes, apologise and move on. Most of these flag ship phones have a flag ship price but very cheap materials. I purchased several different lines of samsung phones. screen cracked easily, bugs, and many more issues. Now in addition to those issues you are telling me that the new flagship will be scratched easier than before......wth. but i'll bet that the price will be higher.
Poor Corning. They are f...ed up badly with no reason, but just because happened to sell GG5 to Samsung.
We knew that there will be some dirty fake plot against the great Note 7, to prevent the sales. Like every year.
Samsung is getting bigger and bigger, and that's not good. And now Note 7 is again the best smartphone ever. How dare they to be better that the lovely Apple. They are not US company. So, Samsung deserve to be attacked, even with dirty means. Right guys?
But with this fake scratch test, were hit US company too. Corning will loose not only stock price , but also many OEM that were going to use GG5 this and next year. No matter that GG5 is more scratch resistant than ever.
