Necromancer, 20 Aug 2016You are mistaken. Actually Samsung smartphones are the best.Good? Failed the scratch test and charges buyer at $750? Good luck.
I go for HTC Nexus this year. HTC always have solid phones.
This is business. For sure Corning has right to defend GG5.
The question is that GG5 more vulnerable to scratch than GG4 with the similar test method. I strongly believe now Corning is finding way to improve this flaw otherwise they will loose business.
Curve glass = bad news to buy screen protector.
After apply looks shitty, and looks like u stick a plastic over it.
Nothing beats flat screen.
Your average user's pockets or carelessness wont be the same as an "industry" or "controlled" test in a lab. Uncontrolled tests give a more realistic representation of real world mishaps, in my opinion.
My Note 7 scratched on its second day and I'm very careful with my phone. None od my S3 through S7s scratched... corning please ATTEMPT to defend this.

You should be more worried for your favorite brand to start receiving the same gorilla glass
Gasyong34, 20 Aug 2016Who cares? Whats the use of tempered glass?? You are an idiot if you dont cover your $800 scre... moreWell for that 800 bucks "they" ought to include that "tempered glass" for free IMHO.
In fact why don't these manufacturers do that? Especially when they (ought to) know that the new Gorilla Glass 5 isn't as good as the previous versions.
As for the question if Corning is telling the truth? No they aren't. If they are so aggressively defending CG5 then they obviously made a grave mistake and won't/can't fix it.

Nope I don't think Zack is lying he do a lote of smartphones test he never care about any brand he use , gg5 is bad and that is the truth , you can cover it with protecter or d brand sticker !
And now after this news Zack will buy another note7 and new tools just like what happened to nexus 6p lol
Grey1213, 20 Aug 2016I don't put my phone in my jeans pocket. It sits snug in my chest pocket. And you can use a ca... moreNot all people want to hide nice looking expensive device in cover. Otherwise what's the purpose of purchasing such device ? Let alone the fact that any cover makes already not a small or particularly thin device noticeably heavier and thicker. I personally hate any covers and fully realise the risk associated with not using any cover, however I don't want manufacturer increase my risk with scratch prone screen or paint on frame which will start to come off soon after purchase.
