[P.S. that's a Rhetorical question]
that's the most ugly part about android and samsung , no future updates for the old devices. i mean samsung wants to compete with apple but lack in giving updates.
As always... samsung disappoints their valued consumers.... i stop using Samsung ... after they trash S3 on 4.3 and made that worst than the ICS.......

You will find yourself with less and less working apps.
Most people will blame the developers for shitty bugs.. but most of the case is they refuse to update.
Shame... I was going to buy it, since I find it better than the Tab S2
mike, 22 Aug 2016Doze was groundbreakingWell, you say groundbreaking. 10 extra minutes to battery life is groundbreaking. Heck, even these 10 minutes could be by a margin of error.
Tab S bigger and better than later releases with smaller screens, we're a failure in the market, now looks like Samsung is trying to revive the sales for older S2 cancelling update for marshmallow at original Tab S... could you learn about your errors? or simply die like Apple tablet is happening now... be careful, China brands could pay us more attention and we can selectively do a smart decision choosing them...
TAB S Hardware is similar to TAB S2 -.
.Reason not to upgrade is to make people buy TAB S3 which comes next month.
Greedy Samsung did SAME with Galaxy S3 Kitkat.
I don't know why people keep complaining about updates, sometimes it makes the phone worse, degrading the performance, that happens with iOS and Windows Phone too, but in the case of this systems, they don't have a way to install a custom firmware like with Android, Samsung devices have plenty of dev support and there's lots of updated and stable custom ROMs to download and flash on your phone/tablet.
Realistically, I noticed no performance increases by moving from lollipop to marshmallow. My note 4 was the same, my S5 got a bit slower.
Thinking about it, almost every update ive ever had made the device less reliable. Thats why I dont bother with nexus devices anymore.
Brad666, 21 Aug 2016and by the way why is that even the Samsung kies 3 doesn't have the marshmallow update for S5 G900FI don't know why that happens, but the 6.0.1 firmware wasn't released in Philippines I think, but anyway, you can install the updated firmware for the SM-G900F via Odin, you can check here: http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=SM-G900F
Just don't choose an carrier branded ROM and it'll be ok! :)
You can check the tutorial for flashing via Odin here: http://forums.androidcentral.com/ambassador-guides-tips-how-s/499009-guide-samsung-how-flash-stock-rom-via-odin-new-interface.html

It was working flawlesly. Don't know why are you saying it was stuttering. Maybe the apps you have have to do something with that? Touchwiz on galaxy s6 and later devices has improved a lot. From my experience, there was no difference after changing android version on my device. Well... it is samsung, so they might've done something to make the update do more than just change the number. I've just watched a Tech Trinkets video comparing the versions of android 6.0 on galaxy s6 and some things opened faster on one version, some things on the other, but they're pretty much the same performance wise.

I have friends with moto X, moto G and LG G4 who actually find the phone faster too. Maybe is placebo...

Google didn't introduce anything that helped overall performance. It must have been your device manufacturer fixing some bugs or something in the android 6.0 or you're BSing right now, or you must have been using some device with snapdragon 210, that'd explain it. I was waiting for android 6.0 at first to come to my device, but after I installed it, I didn't notice any difference. There is one more thing that could actually explain your reaction. Placebo effect. If you've encountered bugs, stuttering, lag, it's not android at fault, it's the device manufacturer who can't optimize and fix their software or you just didn't update the device. Also, can you tell me which device you're using?
divis200, 21 Aug 2016Well... marshmallow didn't add any groundbreaking features. Just some fingerprint api and doze... moreWell, that's not completely right. Marshmallow improved on one thing that is the most important: performance. Lollipop was slow, laggy as f***, stutter and with lot of bugs etc
Lollipop, worst version yet that Google released lol
