Anonymous, 02 Sep 2016So, only lg makes it right ?Actually they failed big time, the LG G5 modules are plagued with both software and hardware problems, just google it.
Makes perfect sense and they should since no one will buy it since their cpu and gpu can not be upgraded what's the point?
Google cannot innovate on its own, even Android was not invented by them.
Anonymous, 02 Sep 2016So, only lg makes it right ?moto z play already using it and may be iPhone 7 as well.
So sad - but as the trend seems to be thin devices, unfortunately it makes sense, as we could not expect a sandwich of display + frame + back-modules to have a competitive thickness.
Though I personally would gladly sacrifice a few mm extra
Another issue is that they OUGHT to have had at the least one of the top slots designed to go through the frame, to allow for the thickness needed for a decent camera module, without horrible protrusion.
Modular design will save the planet, benefit the consumers but companies will lose money....so what else can I say?
Anonymous, 02 Sep 2016So, only lg makes it right ?LG's efforts are nothing like what Ara was supposed to be: there's a huge difference between a phone that can take a couple of accessories and one where all of the major components are swappable.
I wonder whether LG have sold enough "friends" for it to have been worth the effort?
The smartphone market is getting more and more disapointing by the day... from everyone.
