Samsung have my 100% respect. They can hold their hands up high and admit that they have faulty handsets, then they do a recall on all Note 7 phones.
What would Apple do here? Probably blame the user for charging the phone "incorrectly" or tell you to stop putting the phone in a pocket so that it doesn't become too hot.
My heart bleeds for them, note 1 got ditched for badly needed updates, note 3 still got treated the same,so they took the money as usual and promised this update that update but never deliveded, glad I ditched em yonks ago, RIP sammy !
Matthew, 05 Sep 2016His comment was about quality and you are telling about software experience..Oh yes! Samsung Note 7 has a very high quality S-Pen which fails to eject, high quality screen which gets scratched easily and don't forget a killer battery.
Anonymous, 05 Sep 2016Many commenters blame the chinese battery manufacturers, but in fact, the Samsung's own batter... moreActually, another Google shows that the faulty batteries were made by ITM Semiconductor, a Korean company. But let's wait and see who ITM is actually owned by; it may very well be Daymsun themselves.
ITM "operates as a subsidiary of NICE Holdings Co., Ltd."
It would be a shame if samsung made battery that faulty and not the chinese one. But samsung keep the information as secret so who knows the fact.
Anonymous, 05 Sep 2016you dont know what you are saying right? Samsung is the biggest cell phones vendor worldwide. And most pathetic software support by samsung !
They have pathetic software support e.g. flagship note 3 on buggy 5.0.0
Come on samsung atleast provide 5.1.1 update for note 3 !
AnonD-580885, 05 Sep 2016This is going to hit Samsung in the wallet long after this battery fiasco has subsided. Samsun... moreAt least now they have inspiration to do something new or fail. Companies only get creative when they're desperate
This is going to hit Samsung in the wallet long after this battery fiasco has subsided. Samsung will need to do something in order to keep customer loyalties like lowering prices of already shipped handsets like the S7/edge models
Anonymous, 05 Sep 2016Because you never owned a HTC or Motorola. HTC sense is way better than Touchwiz. Motorola has... moreHis comment was about quality and you are telling about software experience..
Savor , 05 Sep 2016So you still diss them when Samsung is losing a billion dollars out of this and for taking ful... moreHere you go again hating on Apple when no one knows if what Apple would do if their phones starting exploding just from charging!!!
I do agree that Apple kind of dismissed the Antennagate issue but at the same time, not all people where affected by this & it wasn't life threatening like the Note 7s exploding batteries are!!! I wasn't affected by Antennagate but still got a case out of it as it was a no quibble thing.
Stop hating on Apple so much & stop comparing a potential killer to losing signal!!
AnonD-504676, 05 Sep 2016Samsung should just focus on building airconds or refrigerators. Just farking get lost in maki... moreLOL.. The very same HTC along with LG ( to a very small extent ) are trying to stay afloat..
Savor , 05 Sep 2016So you still diss them when Samsung is losing a billion dollars out of this and for taking ful... morethats an explosion, someone can be seriously harmed. Purple-tinted HTC camera or Apple antenagate didn't had such risks
Many commenters blame the chinese battery manufacturers, but in fact, the Samsung's own battery manufacturer (Samsung SDI) produced the faulty batteries. The chinese batteries are working perfectly. I don't know why GSMArena didn't mention it.
Search for these articles in Google:
Samsung reportedly discarding Samsung SDI batteries for Galaxy Note 7
Exploding kittens: how to tell if you have a Samsung SDI, or a 'safe' ATL battery in your Note 7
(I can't paste links because GSMArena don't allow posting links.)
In one way I feel Samsung had this cost coming because of their too high retail price. Around 700dollars wouldn't have pissed costumers, even buying costumers, off so much. If you really want the phone you're gonna pay the higher price but you'll be pissed off at the company thus creating bad will.
Next time a similar situation where 2 options with similar products arises the constumer would tend to choose the other company that was not cheap the last time.
Anonymous, 05 Sep 2016The Galaxy Note 7 literally have blown the competition away.Samsung have blown themselves out of proportion
