There's no way to compare Samsung. They are too integrated. Apple fan, you have to bare in mind, this result only represent Samsung electronics.
I shall do some equity analysis here then.
Samsung electronics itself has an shareholder equity of USD$ 80 billion, dwarf Apple's USD$ 47 billion, its sales of USD$35 billion also dwarf Apple's USD$ 20 billion, This quarter is the only quarter where Apple's Profit exceed Samsung's by 400 million, but yet again thats the electronics division.
If you think only Apple has $40 billion in cash (which they represent in current asset) to burn you are wrong, Samsung has a cash pool of $60 billion, while total asset of $120 billion, definitely bigger than Apples $75 billion asset.
Their interest span from construction to finance to heavy industry to many other area.
If you add in together and consider as Samsung group, Apple has light years to do cash up, after all, Samsung is the world largest conglomerate. A note to apple fan, learn to analysis data first before commenting here.

Theres no way apple will ever compare with samsung, samsung is the technollogical company with twice bigger revenue than the next largest competitor, and four times larger than apple's.. Profits are just one part of the picture

you guys don't get it, the galaxy s alone sold 7m which is something huge. so my point is that if it weren't for smart phones samsung would be almost like lg that lost more than 800k which is huge!
So yes apple still rules this area, but thumps up for samsung for trying to catch up with them, the only thing that I don't like about the galaxy s is that it copies the iphone in every aspect, no creativity at all, it's more like a clone.

How shocking that there are fans comparing numbers and trying to claim which phone/company is the best. Honestly what does it matter? You are not getting paid and whether any other manufacturer sells more than your beloved device you still won't concede that their device is better. So what is the point if neither will convince the other that one device is better? Use your phone of choice and just leave it at that. If you are truly happy with your device which you have just bought then why bother looking at other devices. Just so you can justify your purchase?
