If they are not, those... moreThe "old" days were a bit better...1 series being basics, 2 series being upscale basics, 3 series being music, 4 series being dead, 5 series being from rugged to music, 6 series being not so series business (though some of the "low end" 6-series phones don't seem to be that much different from "high end" 2-series, 7 series being fashion, 8 series being expensive (and not worth the $?), 9 series being serious business.
But what's going on right now? A "downscale" N8 becomes C7? And why now we've C6-01? Why wasn't there any C70-00 or something? What's so "business" about E-series where most of the features can be found in C or N series?
Absolutely and totally confusing for "outsiders".
And yes, agree most everybody else releases similar phones as well, though do they "bombard" the media like the almighty brand? Just look at the review section, how many phones from the almighty brand vs. the others?

BTW looks very cheap all body icl. buttons.
Nokia, whats wrong with you? Enough to make this kind phones and let's produce few but good phones.
Thanks.
I think Nokia going to a Indian, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lankan, Afganistan market. Even African market if from subsachara region african got few $$ from nowhere.
But this simple Nokia Phones in European market just for imigrants from Africa or some south asian countries.
Appologies for bad english grammar coz this my fourth language. I still learning.
i think there's huge potential for a even cheaper qwerty phones in the south Asian and African region! Wont be a bad choice for people who can only buy 70-80 dollar phones!
Ciarra Sotto Jr., 03 Nov 2010well nokia x2-01 seems cute and promising... but i dnt think it has any difference from any ot... moreIt has already been shown that the iPhone 4's display has a higher resolution than is physiologocially possible to discern with the naked eye, at normal viewing distances. This means that on a 3.5" screen, any higher than 640*960 is a waste of pixels.
On the other hand, N8 can output 720p HD - which is the same resolution output by most Xbox360/PS3 games (the consoles then upscale the game's rendered resolution). A handset resolution of 360*640 means hardware budget can be devoted to things like battery size; camera quality etc., rather than requiring a monster GPU/CPU just to make the phone work!
As for claims that Symbian is outdated - and ignoring the fact that Symbian^3 is actually brand new - complaining about that is like complaining that Windows 7 still has a Start menu, because Windows 95 also had a Start menu. Sym^3 shares the features of Symbian that work, and maintains the utilitarian but customisable and sophisticated UI while updating the actual operating *system* to meet modern demands.
I am keeping my eyes peeled for the N8 release here in Australia, and grabbing one as soon as I can afford it.
nokia may be falling and losing market share and might even lose the number one spot early next year to samsung, in fairness, nokia try to be different from the pack unlike samsung and lg who have no qualms about copying iphone and other popular phone and sell them cheap. they have no originality in ideas but sadly it work.
This ohone rocks,i love its design and its price, god for many people on the world, i highly recommend this to you
Good to see Nokia competing with their true competition that is with china mobiles and even here I don't see nokia winning with their symbian os.
wtf is this, they run out of ideas, S40=)) and by the way the newest phones like n8,c7 and e7 sucks, because of they're stupid old operating system symbian and they're stupid expensive price, android is the newest business, even the galaxy 5 is more good then the c7, except for the camera, but i don't buy expensive phones just because the camera shot hd and have flash

how many galaxys and waves from sasmung ;)
well nokia x2-01 seems cute and promising... but i dnt think it has any difference from any other nokia phones... They just bringing Options to their customers... the only thing I dnt like about Nokia they keep on creating new phones and the problem is the difference between each other is just one feature... y dont they just create 2-3 with unique difference from each other rather launching more n more... i love Nokia & I am planning to get the N8 I wish it is better than my n97 that I have before... The one i hate about high end nokia phone is the resolution... they keep on saying it handle 16M colors but technically its not... poor resolution... create something that can be comparable to an LCD or LED tv... that is youre market... and plsss the camera make it better... I switched from n97 to iphone simply because of the resolution... and nokia never created an elegant phone except for arte...
but infairness NOKIA is better than Samsung... if nokia has poor resolution the more Samsung is... more of their design are so FUGLY....

As what i said, nokia can sell more than what they can throw, but being smart, no they won't throw unsold phones . besides, don't you have any other point of arguement aside from nokia dumping phones in the landfills? seems like you're running out of reasons to bash nokia. I ain't a fanboy of Nokia, but I don't despise them as much as you do.
And phones being reproduced with similar features under a different version is not just Nokia. How many optimus and cookie has been released by LG? How many corby has been released by samsung? how many walkman handset with barely difference between them has been released by SE? My list can go on forever but even I make my point, as if you will listen.
and to the last post, saying the design look so cheap, i agree with you. but with a low end phone, what do you expect? LOL
the design looks so cheap.
