for people who have galaxys locked to networks does anyone know if they will be over the air updates?
im with o2
For the Samsung galaxy S why dont they just skip to the next update and include everything that is in Froyo it would be alot easier. becaue now handset owners are going to have to wait all over again unless Samsung by some magic are going to turnaround the next update really quickly
Bill Gates, 05 Nov 2010@Anup - I have the same problem. Kies just does not recognise my phone and always shows "... moreI have send an email to their customer care which I saw in their official site stating the problem along with a picture(as attachment) to show them the problem.............I dont kno whether they would do something about it............if they dont do it I will reset the internal sd card on the day froyo gets launched and download again all of them..............this would b the last choice
HI guys, just 2 things if that may help :
-Uninstall Skyfire browser if you got that one installed on your phone.
-In Samsung Kies, you got an option while clicking on top left menu
"Kies", "reinstall drivers", do that, then be sure to have no auto task killer on your phone running, reboot your phone if necessary then plug it back on your USB port then select Samsung Kies mode, it should be working that way, or then try another USB port. Else, i'm sorry for you.
PS: damn stil no update here in France.
@Anup - I have the same problem. Kies just does not recognise my phone and always shows "connecting" - it never actually connects. I read somewhere that you need to re-format the internal SD card - which like you say will remove all the apps and any other data you have. Does anyone know a workaround to have Kies recognise the Galaxy S?
This seems to affect quite a few people - Samsung need to pull their finger out and start developing better software to match their incredible hardware.
Its a good thing froyo has come but how can I update 2 froyo when I am facing MTP application error.......do i have to reset it to update...........if reseting is the only option its gonna be tiresome for me(getting all applications back)
