adeelraj, 18 Sep 2016maybe for going slimNexus phones getting smaller and smaller again . Nexus 6 had a 6 inch display , nexus 6p is 5.7 inch display and Google PIXEL XL will have 5.5 inch display . When will Google and many other makers realise that there need to be multiple versions of display size because there is segnificany number of business people who need a 6 to 7 inch phone !
It says it has GSM 1900 which is an att 4G GSM frequency. It should be fine.

The S7 edge and iPhone use capacitive keys which means you don't have an ugly black bar at the bottom most of the time... Which reduces the screen space
AnonD-292864, 17 Sep 2016Great design ? On-screen buttons are the worst design choice. If you want your phone to be an iPhone copycat of Samsung crap, go ahead.
Nexus phones have always had on-screen "buttons" since Galaxy Nexus. This is more versatile solution. It allows less bezel, and provides a better full screen experience when needed (the buttons just go away). Having a button at the front is redundant if the fingerprint reader is already at the back.

While the kiddies here are arguing over whether it's a SD820 or 821 (which will make very little difference in the real world) the real problem will be connectivity.
punty, 18 Sep 2016i think these cases are for iphone 7 and plus and calm downIn the video renders there are clearly a camera hole, LED flash and two led/mic/sensor holes. This case is just fugly.
People fighting over Snapdragon 820 and 821. Jeese, I still use a Snapdragon 800 on my LG G2 with Cyanogenmod 13 and get almost no lag. Some people became slaves of consumerism for a couple of digits in a benchmark.
Anonymous, 18 Sep 2016In that case you can't want a new phone every year. There is no way possible you can see a hug... moreif the phones are there, i switch 2 times every year. last year i went from alpha til s6, then back to alpha after seeing how bad the s6 was. then i went from alpha to note 5. this year i went from note 5 to s7. would have gone from s7 to note 7, if they had made it with 6gb ram, exynos 8893 cpu and a 4000 mah battery. but, they didnt and im still on my s7. looking forward to see the new leeco tho. sd821 cpu, 8 gb ram, 5000 mah battery. since sammy is talking about going away from flat screens and android, i guess i wont go for the s8. i dont wear the newest cloth or have the newest gadgets or the newest car. but i like to be with the newest phone and hardware. since i dont really game that much anymore, my computer is still on 2014 hw. would have changed it to the 7th gen cpu and gtx 1080 titanium if i was still heavy on gaming.
It's time for google to have their own phone.
This will be backfire to a lot of companies.
And I suspect that Samsung will create their own OS just because of this.
Maybe Tizen will be more evolved.
I had 11 updates on my iPhone since I bought it and now I'm on 12th.
11 more updates to come since that's average on yearly iPhone update.
This will never happen on Android device if it's not controlled all the way by google. NEVER!
Anonymous, 18 Sep 2016The "Pixel" name is just so stupid, I can't get over it. It's infantalizing. It sounds like a ... moreGoogle changed the name to streamline its line of products. They have Pixel tablet and chromebooks, so it would only make sense to have a Pixel phone.
Just because the name is a bit feminine, doesn't mean that the "nerdy mostly male former Nexus fans" would stay away from it. Their masculinity is not as fragile as yours. Plus, don't you think that they're nerdy enough to acknowledge about the name change? What a mind blow, right?
Also, Nexus doesn't have a large fan base. Only the tech-savvy ones acknowledge the brand. So the new Pixel branding won't affect the sale.
