by that logic, the nexus 6p(angler) and 5x (bullhead) shouldve also had water resistance
Anonymous, 22 Sep 2016sony is so poor. that's why google dont trust them.Lmao I busted out laughing.
I knew it, I was waiting for this news. Since the new Nexus phone code name is "Sailfish and Marlin" I had strong doubt it being water resistance.
funkboy, 22 Sep 2016Amazing: HTC starting to "get it", while Sony drops the ball... Weirder things have happen... moreBack in 2014 HTC released a water resistant phone,, HTC Butterfly 2. - IPX7 certified - water resistant up to 1 meter and 30 minutes
It's fine if you keep it upright while it's raining? You can do that with any phone, as long as it doesn't have any ports or buttons on the top side, lol :)
This website feels like my school. Teenagers fighting over nothing all the time xD
derunningman, 22 Sep 2016Thats not me, the guy is SKY WARRIOR..Oh! moving on, Sorry!
When I carry my Galaxy Note in my shirt pocket while biking I carry it in a plastic bag because if I don't then sweat from biking will make it misbehave in various ways most commonly it will turn on the display out of the blue wasting battery and at other times just turnoff. Protection against moisture is very welcome.
derunningman, 22 Sep 2016Ok u want people to talk about Sony. U r right Sony is now the best for smartphone waterproofi... moreNobody did the IP rating recently. But following your first comment you have no idea how U sounded right?
Let me tell you... You sounded like apple should own it to Samsung for waterproofing. Meanwhile even the Samsung is still trying to get it right. Yes S7 active is struggling in that aspect.
The Japanese were the first in IP rating(Not Sony specifically)
Nokia had first waterproof smartphone(Symbian 5500 if am not mistaken)
Motorola had first Waterproof Android
Sony then came along(Still on android but Flagship this time)
So if you knew this history you wouldn't make that comment. Sadly enough Samsung has just 4 waterproof phones...
Xcover 550(Active like model)
So I had to caution you, Yes? And, please do not mention those active models, they are total ripoff.

U r right Sony is now the best for smartphone waterproofing since xperia active. But u show too much hatred when people reference to samsung product, so that u forget to research that samsung has done the ip rating not recently.
I'm no samsung worshiper. Xperia ray, LG G3 Cat6, mi5 user here
harlekkin, 22 Sep 2016For waterproofing, SHARP beat everyone to the chase in 2008...I think Sonim was earlier in 2007
Amazing: HTC starting to "get it", while Sony drops the ball...
Weirder things have happened I guess...
(like the 2016 US election season...)
derunningman, 22 Sep 2016Remember galaxy s4 active, galaxy s5. Samsung has been there since long time for waterproofingFor waterproofing, SHARP beat everyone to the chase in 2008...
derunningman, 22 Sep 2016Remember galaxy s4 active, galaxy s5. Samsung has been there since long time for waterproofingWhen the world talks about waterproof phones, the world is talking about Sony. Xperia V was waterproof before that nonsense S5 u mentioned. And don't fall for that "Active" model crap bcos it's just the same phone with a factory fitted rugged casing.
Sony perfected waterproofing so much that they added it on mid range devices. Even the little boy Xperia M2 Aqua water IP rated. Instead making research you're trying to prove a point. How many waterproof phone are there in Samsung and Sony.
To you Samsung worshipers, waterproofing is still special.
Innosaintify, 22 Sep 2016Oh shut up. Now it has to be about you and your over rated Samsung right? I was pissed enough... moreRemember galaxy s4 active, galaxy s5. Samsung has been there since long time for waterproofing
Madyar, 22 Sep 2016thats nut.xperia is based on profit google will never do that dude.Really? but couldnt you see Pixel's pricing? $645 for the least model and more for the XL? God, i miss the days of Nexus 4 & 5 when they were considered to be the best in everything including price, Nexus 5 is still the best though.
