I have MS Lumia 640 Dual SIM with Windows 10 Mobile OS build: 10.0.14393.103 & I have double tap to wake feature & also double tap to sleep feature(double tap on navigation bar)
Already on .50030 version. With insider... So i won't be excited as expected
MyNameIs, 26 Sep 2016Dead OS, Lumia is dead...so who cares ?As you can see, people;)! People care;). Apparently you care as well, otherwise you wouldn't be here, now woud you? I don't care a Samesung and you'll never see me reading or commenting in it's areas;). You might ask, why don't i care about samesung? Well, cause i like technology not copyology;).
I'm using Nokia 730, and it's like new phone after updating to w10. I noticed now that camera can launch on lock screen and it has panorama now.
Just updated my 550, I won't be able to tell the difference just yet but its a very fluid OS no lag at all on my updated 550. I use whatsapp, facebook and flightradar24 apps no problems at all.
mir, 25 Sep 2016Double tap to wake feature can help people to not wear out their power buttons too quickly. An... moreI agree.
For the record Windows update Amber, Black. Cyan, Denim and the two or three updates that preceded Amber were nothing short of excellent.
Every update it felt like you had a new phone
(BTW BlackBerry have a swipe up to ope)
Windows 10 was envisage as the last universal update for all Lumia phone, only phones released with W10 would receive new update.
Windows 10 is a unfinished update that was much delayed and never worked even on the Lumia 950 it was pre installed on.
At the same time Microsoft wrote off the cost of the Nokia purchase
Only some of the Lumia phone were eligible for the W10 update despite those not eligible having same CPU as ones that made the cut
Reading the forum many who upgraded the reverted back to W10 using WDRT as their phone became virtually unusable after updating.
Which? (UK Consumer magazine) has condemned W10 computers in the report 22/09/2016 problems on PC are similar to phone
Imo if the Lumia 950 were released with W8 and Microsoft worked on full developing W10 even if it meant piecemeal release of working components of W10 then that would have been better but the launch of the 950 promised W10.
As those who purchased the 950 have been dogged with problems and those who upgraded t W10 acquired the same problems and the Lumia 550 can't even get the double tap speaks volumes ( My W8 phone has tap to wake. )
Despite not having the same number of apps as Android) the price of the Lumia 950 is almost a steal for a high end phone which would ONLY get you a midrange Android phone but Windows 10 as is make it a no no
All you have to do is read the other article that the HP Elite X3 launch delayed camera issue software update etc same 'problem' as the 950
To be clear all updates up to W8 [Denim] updated and worked without issue
W10 only then being able to be viable for some of the phones was a clear indication that something was wrong
I have this cool feature in my Nexus 6 using custom ROM (DU) with EX Kernel Manager .
It's also included by default in CM13 ROM but I didn't like CM because of a lot of issues .
Note7, 25 Sep 2016After nearly one year, double tapping for waking up is the single most important feature every... moreIt is a future invented by Nokia. It is a future all windows phones had. Thr windows 10 users are accostumed to it, and the new devices did not had this future. So people want it back;). That's about it. Sometimes, when something important misses, people get vocal. Go figure!
Anonymous, 24 Sep 2016Why people even use windows? The real question is. Why you even comment here;). Makes no sense isn't it;).
After nearly one year, double tapping for waking up is the single most important feature everyone using Windows Mobile looking out?
older lumias like 535 already has it. i am using it, but consumes a lot of battery.
