So many generations later, Google still cannot get a phone design correct. Seems like they has to maintain those edges and keep making lookalike handsets.
Anonymous, 27 Sep 2016Industry isn't interested in modularity because modular phones will save your money. Obviously... moreSadly true.
Someone has to take the initiative and talk about it in the United Nations. This year they signed agreements for the environment. They could include a project for this.
Anonymous, 27 Sep 2016even i am kinda an android fan, i cannot accept the cheap look of phone, and the ugly ui and i... moreCrappy htc??? Did you use htc flagship before?
Till now Huawei didn't come closer to htc in terms of quality. Maybe we can expect in future. But I think, it will take more time for huawei to provide one of the best interface like htc(lot to improve)
You will come to know about quality after switching from htc flagship to huawei flagship.
At present, Huawei is just affordable phone than htc.
[deleted post]Industry isn't interested in modularity because modular phones will save your money. Obviously they want you to spend more, not less. That's why Google's project Ara has been effectively cancelled. Other "modular" designs (like Motorola's one) are simply a bunch of expensive accessories. Don't expect a breakthrough here.
AMR M., 27 Sep 2016Call me old fashioned but I really look forward to Nokia's come back no more boring innovative... moreYeah, but im personally waiting for the next big step in the industry- modularity. Google has cancelled its project for some reason. Motorola tried to do something but with no university. We need more universal things, same like USB. When you buy an accessory or part you have to be able to use it with your next device. That will help the environment as well. Also it's time e-ink displays to be used in order to safe battery. A case with E-ink on the front going to be very good for basic things and also for reading. Any way someone's you to earn from my ideas.

It is 2016 but you people still do not possess enough intuition to let these recent renders pass as close-to-official. You could do better. How about trying to figure out the ratio between rumors or leaks that have been accurately close to official versus ones that lay down inaccuracy or fallacy of info at least starting from the beginning of the year?
ratGT, 27 Sep 2016Google, it took you more than 10 years to realize that you need to copy Apple's frost-covered ... moreFirst of all these arent official renders
and second google has given Pixel's manufacturing to HTC so if they want to bring some tweaks and copy Apple thats their choice...
Meto, 27 Sep 2016Hahah good way of thinking. Come on Google make it 800$, you can..Call me old fashioned but I really look forward to Nokia's come back no more boring innovative acting OEMs and back to true innovation even if it's weird like the ngage or the E90 or all those iconic stuff that I miss so much now seeing screens with buttons under them calling them all new design and dual camera DSLRs Hahahaha and ram and processor race for the right to possess the most expensive brick of display that does nothing new , mobile market is out of fresh ideas and that's really annoying
Google, it took you more than 10 years to realize that you need to copy Apple's frost-covered bottom dock/icon drawer. At least give some credit to the one OS - Apple's iOS - that has inspired you the most and whom you've copied from more than anything else in the world!
Just guessing from past behaviour of Google.
When high end Moto Nexus 6 was released, they started with android one phones for lower end category.
If rumours are to be believed for pricing of pixel siblings, then surely they have some low-end stuff under development to access the market at lower segment.
Meto, 27 Sep 2016Nothing really new, but the price definitely is a flagship :D These days oh mateWell, they thought Apple ain't better than us ftw we 650 too , in fact I wouldn't be surprised if the xl starts at 769 Hahahaha just for competitiveness :D
Google Pixel should carry an IP rating of 67 at least other than 53. Every phone is upgrading there specs and Google is doing the opposite.
Fake render, and surely specs, if Google wants to sell it for more than 299$ (That would be sweet, considering it's still not as good for its time as the Nexus 5 was)..
