AnonD-248589, 04 Oct 2016The Mi5 camera rather sucks.Here's a 100% crop taken from GSMarena comparing P9 & Mi5, enlarge or even better download for a clear comparison:
Colours are over saturated, which is no biggy, people like that anyway. The main problem as mentioned is the loss of detail. Look at the tiles that you can see on the apartment roof in the Mi5 image, they can't be seen in the P9 image. Then look at the grey buildings aircon units, panels & the stairs and so on.
Here's a little snippet from GSMarena's Mi5 review:
"The dynamic range is high, which lately becomes a must for a flagship camera. Overall the processing is really mature and we consider those samples among the best 16MP ones we've seen so far.
The foliage is way better than the mess we saw on the Galaxy S7/S7 edge with more resolved detail and distinctive shapes even on the tiniest of grass and trees' blossoms. The green color is more accurate, too."
AnonD-92238, 04 Oct 2016imagine a Xiaomi Nexus, best value for moneyOnce they paid the licensing and marketing fees it wouldn't be so cheap.
Some interesting comments in this article. My two cents:
1) alot of big names being thrown around, i would find it had to believe it has nothingbto do with either side government involvement...
2) i think the reason for switching to Pixel name is,A, tax reason; B, google wants to get away from the 'cheap'/'value for money' image. Look at 6Ps and Pixel C pricing...
3) Huawei being chinese company, they underestimated their local customers requirement for dual sim. Countless times i r ead on asian forum that 6P is struck off wish list because the lack of dual sim. So they may not want to do another one cobsider for 6P, ignkre the negative/blendy comments, they missed out in china market, sold reasonably ok in europe, and didnt do so well in US... they have ever reason to say no.

You haven't tried it so you are not entitled to say P9's camera is inferior unless you're only basing your opinion from review sites. I would recommend to try it on your own or at least watch pocketnow on how to utilize this phone.
AnonD-592959, 04 Oct 2016still waiting for Sony to made nexus @ pixel phone.... Sony won't made Nexus dude. Xperias are much better and stable than Nexus.

"Beyond China, where they are the undisputed number one smartphone brand, Huawei has advanced aggressively into new markets, with a heightened focus on Europe, where they are the continentÂ’s number two Android phone and, in some markets, number two overall. A full half of HuaweiÂ’s 100+ million handset sales and 65% of the companyÂ’s revenue last year derived from markets outside of China, as the companyÂ’s market share rapidly rose in countries like Germany, Italy, and Spain."
It's only in the us they aren't doing well. In Europe the p9 has had a massive advertising campaign and has been quite well received. And I can guarantee that HTC isn't selling anything close to 50 million handsets a year.
Why do you think HTC has better build quality? Phones like the p9 seem to be pretty solid, and that's without the thickness and bezels of HTC.
AnonD-444894, 04 Oct 2016no Apple Google phones :P ?Add a home button and a custom rom and you are set, haha.

Mid range hardware packed into a slender package with insane amounts spent on advertising. The only exception is they have Leica dual camera and a genuinely good display, but then so does the RedMi Pro at less than half the price. Somehow the dual Leica lens cameras is still inferior to the likes of Xiaomi Mi5, Galaxy S7 & LG G5 etc where it lacks finer details by comparison.
what a pity, huawei is much better than htc. nexus 6p is the best nexus all time with proven record (2nd is nexus 5 by lg). For the nexus made by htc (eg, nexus 9)..well...no buy for me

Huawei is doing well only in its local Chinese market. If you exclude China market in its financial report, its basically nothing.
This is why until today Huawei does not well accepted and recognised in Western countries.
Quality wise, I must say HTC > Huawei in many aspects.
Just compare your favorite cellphone sales three years ago with this year. If going up that mean they doing well and people like it , if going down it mean not so good.
Don't be so sad if going down. It is only just "a cellphone"....No cellphone makers on the top forever. They become old, lazy, ugly, greedy after awhile.
I never stick with one brand. I use iphone for weekend and some android for weekday. It is fun. Don't limit yourself and have fun with new one.

how is refining antenna lines helping them when they are making heavy losses with evry flagship they make evry flagship result in losses and staff layoffs at this stage htc shud just leave the mobile handset space,u wax lyrical about htc but uve probably neva bought an htc phone, from were i am u smell like and i sheep
[deleted post]I agree with you Totally. To be honest with you sometimes I think Google is afraid of Huawei and see it as a threat because it has a good potential to be great.
So what's your issue?? You are the kind of people who are raised to believe only good smartphones come from Apple,Samsung,Sony,HTC! My friend times are changing and Huawei now days make best smartphones with top notch quality. I guess you never realize this because I doubt if you have handled a Huawei phone lately!!
