Biased or not, you can't deny the fact that flagship phone cameras are great no matter which phone you got. We talk about tremendous quality from just a fingernail sensor.. it might not seem like a big deal to many with limited photography knowledge, but it impresses me. over 90 points from a smartphone camera? And you people still want more?
Such a high DxOMark without checking how the camera handles low light, not night situations. And I can tell you why - because so far it doesn't!
It's Sony IMX378 Exmor R sensor. Mind this - it's not RS, which was used in so many excellent phones which offer great performance in low light. Actually same IMX378 sensor was used in latest Xiaomi phone, Mi5s - and as reviews proved it was a huge downgrade from Mi5 camera (which was still behind cameras of Samsungs S7 and such). Summarizing, Pixel camera will be a disaster and this high DxOMark will either be reviewed when Google that, or it will but a long lasting shame on the site
AnonD-442781, 06 Oct 2016The main USP of the pixel is the superior Google assistant.Haha, are you serious? Have you tried it? It's already available on Allo, and it's very basic. On majority of things, it basically just just did a search and pulled the top link from Google, and that's even barely accurate.
IMHO S0ny will be king again.
and everyone will then focus their anger and jealousy on S0ny.
haters gonna hate.
AnonD-428442, 05 Oct 2016If you look at the actual spec, it's the same camera as the HTC10. But the htc 10 has a better wider aperture for low light conditions
Regardless of this review of the camera being biased or genuine. You haters gotta admit that these cameras are going to be great, since they're just the same Sony sensors from last year's phones. Smartphone cameras have gotten really good, anyway to the point that you just select what flagship phone you like and you're good to go.
No OIS, no manual controls and less resolution than OnePlus 3, but they ask more than twice as much for that camera. Wouldn't be surprised if I'd get better pictures with the OP3 (I'm a photographer, I always shoot manual and raw.) That's about it with that "amazing" camera. Still I think the S7 is better (you still get OIS and manual controls, but you have a larger f/1.7 aperture and incredible AF). The only reason I won't buy a Samsug phone now it's because I want an explosion-free device.

Anonymous, 05 Oct 2016you own an iphone right ? lolI am using S7 edge and iPhone 6s plus
It really goes to show and back up how the HTC 10 is a stellar, state of the art beautifully crafted and super capable device.
It'll be interesting to know the exact ongoings and operations at this quite secretive firm - dxo. Their camera rankings don't really make any sort of common sense. I agree regarding the Sony devices especially the x premium - the autofocus on the thing is so bad but it got a top mark, whilst the legacy Nokia phones rank in the 70s wtf?! And they didn't even bother reviewing the camera of the 950. Also, it brought out a device for the iPhone - the dxo one. Has great specs but so clumsy to use. It went round the net shutting down any negative reviews of the device.... like the one by the boys at digitalrev. It's back up now but all operations from this company seem really shady....
Anonymous, 05 Oct 2016Pfff. The same kind of story with every OEM that gets a high score. DxO gets paid ghost money ... more> Pfff. The same kind of story with every OEM that gets a high score. DxO gets paid ghost money come on. Everyone put on ur tinfoil hats!
There is absolutely no doubt DxO got paid for this review of Pixel. Pixel got special treatment and reviewed even before the release. Google knew about the release score up front. Even with a completely unbiased review, Google would have to pay them to work with test devices and software.
Anonymous, 05 Oct 2016But DxO is more credible than what your suggesting. So in since you still lose the bragging rights.Theyr not reliable and you cant even show arguments to contradict my own argument. Your point is?
AnonD-428442, 05 Oct 2016The HTC 10 scored 88 on DxOmark. A difference of one point is basically a wash, meaning it's p... morewell a point is still something, or u can say the rest that has 86 points (iphone and the rest) are a wash too, jsut 2 points difference. Don't get me wrong i love HTC 10 even when i don't have one (always liked the design) and i don't care about the camera as much as other people (not a photo/video kinda guy) still i was saying that even the same camera can have different results due to other aspects (software as an example) ^_^
