Anonymous, 06 Oct 2016I am so sorry because I am not electricity expert, but in my mind why we did not use something... moreFuses or circuit breakers only disconnects the battery from the rest of the circuit, which doesn't help when the battery itself catches fire. What happens inside a faulty Note is basically a chemical fire.

Samsung should just use LG batteries. 90% of Samsung devices in our family have battery issues. Most of them are swollen pushing the backing or screen outward. Now 100% of the LGs have no battery issues. 3 year old LG G2 still on original battery. A G3 being overcharged and abused for 2 years still original battery. A G4 is still going on its original battery. Within a year or 2 all the Samsung phones either don't charge or have a swollen battery with horrendous battery life. I even have an old Samsung D900i laying around with...guess what.... a swollen battery as well as an S7350. What is it with Samsung and batteries????

Samsung clarified that they had lot's of faulty note 7 devices and started a replacement/refund plan since then.
so maybe you are trying to say note 7 had no problems at all??? funny fanboy.
this incident is not one those simple cases. it happened on a plane and they will get to the bottom of this whether it was the customer who's lying or AT&T not replacing the note 7 with a safe one or a safe note 7 catching fire.we will know.

All I can find is that the 3rd party was investigating and found the caused was by external source.

Caballero , 06 Oct 2016Strange story...
Why it happens only in US and always when a Us brand launches a new product... moreOk accept the fact there was this faulty batch and ALL Note 7 were recalled.
Now we have this case on a plane
Here is what I find odd is that it happened COINCIDENTALLY on a phone that is in the news
I have / we all have phones that have not exploded I have used basic phones with numerical keypads whose total cost is less than the proof a Note7 battery
No evidence but this looks like an insurance scam and using cabin crew as witnesses
If a phone exploded as this has done, nobody would use them.
I have left many phones unintentionally on charge for 18 hours.
All these people who gave commented negatively lack the common sense to realise that this person is essentially saying grass is blue.
USA very litigious
This is why i does try to avoid high-end devices. Sometimes ths specs, the software or the design of the device is at fault on why certain parts like the battery can fail or become faulty when it comes to providing power to a device. I does be always be saying when creating new devices, OS, etc, you must take your time. Why you have to move so fast?
Anonymous, 06 Oct 2016I am so sorry because I am not electricity expert, but in my mind why we did not use something... moreIt seems you do not understand how the battery failure occurs. If you want to find out how the battery failure occurs then don't ask that here - simply use Google search.
Anonymous, 06 Oct 2016Depends on how much money Samsung is interested to pay. They have already paid a lot to users ... moreYou should know that if Samsung pay even $1 for such thing, they will be destroyed at once. The US rivals and US media just wait for that. Apple and even the US government will pay even double any price to the story holder to reveal such things, so they can strike Samsung for that.
This what you say just reveals your stupid corrupted mind and methods in your poor life
I am so sorry because I am not electricity expert, but in my mind why we did not use something similar to "fuse" or "circuit breaker" in cellphone. When cellphone overheating up to some degree, it will turn off automatically. We need to change the fuse etc...
Please somebody who knows better about electricity explain to us. Thanks....

no one needs your confirmation anymore sammy and no one cares anymore enough with your excuses.
we will hear that from CPSC not you.
AnonD-590482, 06 Oct 2016How long does the investigation usually take?Depends on how much money Samsung is interested to pay. They have already paid a lot to users to take back their complaints.
